My mother in law is named Karen and she thinks it's funny bc she's not like those crazy people as far as kids being named Karen it's been the most unpopular name for over a decade not many new Karen's running around. It's a shame that this is even a thing that's for sure

I agree. I've seen some pretty shitty videos where a woman does or says one little thing wrong and the cammer follows her around berating her and calling her a Karen and getting in her face until she breaks down and cries and he calls that a victory. That's just emotional abuse for the "likes".

Can't speak for all Karen's but for me it feels like the internet has it in for me. It's also taken out of context a lot. Yes, calling people "a Karen" is unfair and silly, just like calling people "a Mohamed" or "a Paul". There are lots of people called Karen, and I know some who are now afraid to speak up against unfairness or anything for fear of people saying that Karen's really do live up to their name.

Seeing how not everyone named Karen behaves this way. It is discriminating against those named Karen. Because everyone thinks they all act this way. Even when there is a valid reason for complaint now. You are dismissed as a Karen. People who think like this are ignorant and I'm just tired of assholes in general. I swear more and more people are just becoming garbage humans.

I wonder if this Karen trend is only in the USA? In Europe I've never heard of it. And I also have 2 wonderful Karen friends (who are absolutely nothing like this "Karen"). If my name was used that way I'd feel conflicted too. Besides, sticking up for oneself and defending one's rights sounds baddass, and vilifying it seems sexist to me, especially since where I'm living at the opposite is often true: people and women in particular feel ashamed to stir the waters and be perceived as troublesome. The swimming pool installer I worked for used the name Steven for those of us who were being less than intelligent.

None of the D***s have been complaining about feeling targeted over the decades, the good Karens will be fine. They've enough logic to realize we're not talking about them.

No child in at least 25 years has been named Karen (*probably). Better than calling them for what they are...bitch and assholes. But some people will think anyone standing up for themselves is a Karen, thus losing original meaning.

I actually just got some disposable masks (kids size) and I was kinda really happy to get them because they were going to fit properly. Now here’s the odd part. They don’t smell good. It’s not like a plastic smell. I can’t even identify it. Can still wear them. Just think it’s bizarre.

As an avid mask wearer, I have to say, that joke has been out since the start of the pandemic. It’s getting as stale as people’s breath.
