You could be casually walking your dog or patiently waiting in line for some coffee when, out of nowhere, a random stranger might approach you and start demanding that you prove you are allowed to do something or yell at you for doing it wrong. Despite their passion for nitpicking others, these people are also somehow the ones who confidently wear a wedding dress to a wedding as mere guests.
Getting to know all the possible situations in which you could accidentally interact with a 'Karen' might get you prepared to stand your ground more confidently and record it while you are at it because usually, those situations turn into comedy gold.

Dealing with entitled customers is the worst nightmare that service workers constantly face. However, if you don’t get in contact with random people a lot, you might be lucky by only being acquainted with them through other people’s experiences. Their unrealistic expectations, inability to accept ‘no’ as an answer, and high demand for attention are typical entitled person behavior.
To work around such people, you will need to become more aware of your limits so you will immediately notice when your boundaries are being crossed. To set them, though, you consistently have to remind them of it. Another skill is assertiveness. It is important to be able to stand your ground when facing difficult people. However, it's better not to lose your cool and to stay as calm and polite as possible.
Most importantly, to maintain your mental health, just don’t take anything these people say or do personally. Our actions and perceptions reflect our mindset, and that is the same for entitled people. They are projecting their twisted sense of entitlement onto other people, which is not a commentary on your worth.
However, not everything revolves around those people and solving their behavioral problems, so just before going in contact, try to evaluate if the energy you will invest is worth it. Such people can be draining and harmful because they use psychological violence, and your mental health is more important than these people’s entitlement will ever be.

Asumming this happened in the US, Is she completely unaware of the laws of age limits that apllies there? That bartender was not being rude, he was just enforcing the law and her attempt at breaking it. You cannot serve alcohol to anyone below the age of 21 period. And then it does not matter if she is only a little under 21. It is his liquer license that is at stake, if he gets busted, and it would be quite a gamble on his bit to allow it, as if it gets taken, a big part of his business would vanish along with it. It is simply not a risk worth taking on his part and would definitely be way more than $150.

Sorry, but you are incorrect. Eau Clare is in WI. In WI it is legal for 18+ to consume alcohol if with a parent, spouse or legal guardian. He is in the wrong.

I don't think the result would be a jail sentence, but they would probably take his liquir license, and as most people find a bar without alcohold rahter dull, his business would probably go under if that happened.

Depending on the jurisdiction, bartenders face up to a year in jail and up to $1000 fine for serving minors. You are not worth the risk.

This may be a local culture thing. In Eau Claire (and the rest of Wisconsin) a minor can drink if there is a legal guardian of age present. All the way down to age 14 in some places of the state. They were just used to letting the underage person join in.

I've got to admit that I still find the excuse of "Oh well it's a meme so it's okay" doesn't sit well with me. It must be truly horrible to be called Karen - no matter what you do or who you are there must be that constant feeling of being judged for no reason. I just don't get how people who appear to otherwise understand how damaging microagressions are to people just swing away at the name Karen without a second thought. It's lazy, it's another way of pitting women against women, and the sooner it dies out the better.
