Allegro, the most popular Polish online auction has released a touching Christmas commercial. It’s a story about an elderly Pole who orders a book called “English For Beginners” and starts a mission to learn a new language.
Created by Warsaw-based agency Bardzo, “English” makes a statement that things can carry a deep and profound purpose. As the old man goes on with his quest we laugh at the funny scenes and can’t help but wonder “Why is he going through all of this?”

"I will f****** kill you." Sigh! Funny but sad commentary about culture/movies.
Immigrants Christmas... Bring tears to my eyes, but I love it! Merry Christmas everyone!
As an American of mostly Polish decent, I wept like a baby missing my Babcia (grandmother) and Djaju (grandfather). Would love to have one more truly Polish Christmas with them!

I highly recomend to watch their polish legends series - it's a series of short films (20 min max) that showcase futurustic look on, you guesed it, polish legends. They have the best polish actors as stars and are incredibly well done.
Poignant and also makes an enormously strong statement about the closeness of families, the difficulties of being far apart, and the joy of coming together. A wonderful story about holidays and their real meaning.
@CeciliaJudice Perhaps his visit was a complete surprise for the family. Or he asked them not to get him so he could surprise them with his
piękna reklama! jestem dumna że wymyślili ją Polacy :) Życzę wszystkim spokojnych, spędzonych w gronie rodziny i przyjaciół Świąt!
I am not crying. This in no way reminds me of every Polish relative I have watched struggling with English and fills my heart with warmth and glee. Nope nope
Why does the little girl not speak Polish? Just because they live in a different country doesn't mean they should abandone their roots
For us, Poles, it is quite sad advertisement. For the son, to whom drove the old man is in the UK, because probably in Poland he could not find a good job, or any job. So he left the country, like many other young Polish people and settled down in UK. Older people remain in Poland, often alone, longing for their children.
Bardziej smutne jest to ze ojciec nie uczy dziecka swojego jezyka :P

Well you only opened an account here to start a flame war, but I'll bite anyway because you're an idiot. You know how I know you're an idiot? It's not because you don't like this ad, it's because of your stipulation of his skin color. You don't even have to be racist, you're just a xenophobe.
