Emma Stone Whispered To Husband After Jimmy Kimmel’s Jab At Her Movie: Did She Say ‘Prick’?
The Internet’s army of lip readers began Sherlocking after Emma Stone was caught whispering something to her husband in response to a comment from Jimmy Kimmel at the Oscars.
The 35-year-old actress, who took home the prized golden statuette for Best Actress for her performance in Poor Things, seemed unimpressed when Jimmy made a comment after playing a short clip from the film.
“Those were all the parts of ‘Poor Things’ that we’re allowed to show on TV,” Jimmy said, making a reference to the risqué nature of the Oscar-nominated film and its many racy scenes.
After Jimmy’s playful jab, Emma was captured turning to her comedian and writer husband, Dave McCary, with a subtle shift in her expression. She was seen leaning into her husband and sharing a whispered comment.

In his opening monologue at the 2024 Oscars, Jimmy said Emma played “an adult woman with a brain of a child.”
“Emma, you were so unbelievably great in Poor Things. Emma played an adult woman with a brain of a child, like the lady who gave the rebuttal to the State of the Union on Thursday night,” Jimmy said, referencing Republican Katie Britt’s speech last week.
Emma won her second Oscar for Best Actress at Sunday’s award show and walked up to the stage while dealing with a wardrobe malfunction.
“My dress is broken,” Emma said as she gave her acceptance speech.
