My favorite thing is when I tell people online I'm from the Netherlands and they go "Oh, Amsterdam!" Uh nope. There's more than Amsterdam in the Netherlands, we don't all live in the one city. We're tiny, sure, but not THAT tiny.

amsterdam isn't a random country though, is it? i mean, i'm japanese, and i learnt a bit about amsterdam in school.... not a lot, but definitely enough to know where it is

I can understand not knowing where Amsterdam is. I can’t imagine they spend much time teaching global geography and history in America. I don’t understand why he needs to be so defensive and aggressive and so “Yay, America!” about it.
