Grown Man Tries To Shame Mom For Breastfeeding In Public, Regrets It Immediately

It doesn’t matter how old a child is, their parents always have the right and the duty to call out their stupid sh*t. When photographer Tanja Krstic Radusinovic was breastfeeding her 9-month-old son at a pool, a man – who appeared to be in his 40s – approached her. Despite the fact that she was feeding her little one under a towel, he said Tanja shouldn’t be doing it there, in public. Luckily, his mother overheard the conversation and decided to step in.

“This was at one of the hotels/resorts in Las Vegas, NV,” Radusinovic told Bored Panda. And it wasn’t the first time when someone attempted to forbid her from the motherly duty. “Too many moms have been shamed for breastfeeding.”

Her initial reaction was confusion. “It’s normal. I can’t believe that grown-up men – and women – would be offended by a baby eating.”

Tanja said the woman was in her 70s, small and skinny. But don’t be fooled by her innocent looks; the savage lady still knows how to school her boy in a way he will never forget. Scroll down to read how Radusinovic remembers the story and let us know what you think about it in the comments.

So, here's a twist. I was too anaemic to breast feed my first born..you need blood to make milk and I'd lost a lot having him. And guess what? You get hated for bottle feeding too! I had other mothers telling me I was a bad mother for bottle feeding my baby. Then I had another baby and I did breast feed him and I got a different demographic of Kevins telling me I shouldn't breast feed him in public. I came to the conclusion some asshats just really like having a reason to tell someone else they are wrong.

I can't think of a single reason why one would be offended or disagree with breastfeeding. It must surely be the most natural event in human history for a mother to breastfeed her baby. Some people are such daft plums.

Like, seriously! WTF do people think breasts are for anyway?! Their whole purpose is to feed babies! Just because men decided that they were 'sexy', we have to deal with this BS. Geez. (Not a mom, will never be a mom, but I will defend to the death another woman's right to feed their baby in the way nature intended.)

This is a little off topic but I didn't know this until very recently...maybe because I've never had children. When I was born in 1967 (yes I'm old but I still look good..ha ha jk) new mothers were very discouraged from breastfeeding and I guess it was not the norm. When my mom told her doctor that she planned on breastfeeding me and my brother he outright scolded her and everyone gave her a VERY hard time. She had to really stand firm to do it when the medical community was giving her such a hard time. Her pediatrician was a schoolmate of hers too. Amazing how things change. It shows that attitudes can be mutable.

This doesnt have anything to do with breastfeeding, but it is HILARIOUS! So, one day, in class (5th grade science), the yeacher asked something along the lines of " whats the most common way we think of getting calcium?" One kid raised his hand excitedly. "Yes?" He happily blurted out; "Titty milk!" When i got home that day, i told my step dad the story. (This kid got in trouble) My step dad replies with; "Well, technically he isnt wrong. Why the f**k is he in trouble? All milk comes from titties! Milk comes from cow titties, goat milk comes from goat titties. Not a big deal. Hes right. Titty milk!" My step dad is 40...

I don't understand or agree with the negative attitude of some towards what is one of the most natural and beautiful interactions between a mother and baby. I am aware that people do unfortunately experience ignorant and negative comments for simply feeding their child in public, however, I'm unsure about this particular 'story'.If this 'grown man' was indeed swimming with his mother, perhaps he has learning difficulties or some other issues and doesn't understand the inappropriate nature of his comments. I breast fed my son and would have been very upset, angry and embarrassed if someone had made a comment to me like this but I'm aware that not everything we read on the internet is true, or else we don't have all the actual facts, just one persons account. Of course the person who made the comments could just be an ignorant a** but we'll never know because we weren't there.

Way back in 1991 I was nursing my daughter, under a blanket in the food court at a mall, old guy walks up to me and informed me that I should be doing that in the bathroom, I told him I would feed the baby in a public bathroom as soon as he sat down and ate his supper in there, he said he wouldn't do that and wandered away.

I had to travel a lot with both my kids when they were infants. And had to breastfed them on almost all the connecting airports. Though I haven't met any Kevin yet I remember distinctly on jfk airport I was alone with the 3 month old. He was crying I had to feed him .I didn't have any towel handy a man understood my situation and stood with his back to me right in front of me so I could feed my baby. He was so large almost covered all of me. I thanked him after but he smiled and gone.

What an arsehole! Breastfeeding is one of the most natural things a human can do. If a kid needs nutrition, you might not have time or acess to a bathroom or prvacy to do it. He needs a good punch in the testicles, that one. Good thing mom was there to step in. By the way, why was a forty year old man at the pool with his MOM? He must lead a sad life.

So she was about to punch him in the testicles over WORDS? And if she had, I would have applauded if he hit her right back. It may be her right to breastfeed wherever she wants, but she does not have the right to hit him just because she's a woman. Imagine if a woman had said something to a man that offended him and he said his first impulse was to punch her, people would be outraged and calling him a violent woman beater.

Why was Kevin with his mom at the pool? Any chance he was an adult with special needs considering his approach and responses? I have an adult son who grew up in special ed...he seems "normal" except with social situations/interactions. I hope he has patient people around him, but isnt always so lucky. I'm tired of everyone posting their whiny complaining stories. I'm a mom, I breastfed mine when they were babies. Never in public, I just wasn't coordinated enough to remain covered while attempting it. Kudos to mom's who can do this. I don't think boobs need to be displayed in full, and sometimes I think it's for the shock value and attention rather than what's practical in feeding a baby. Anyway, this mom posted it because she wanted attention.

The only time I'm not cool with breastfeeding in public is when I get squirted in the face during the process of releasing the kraken... I mean breast. Which has actually happened to me and it still haunts my dreams. In slow motion. At least do it carefully, I don't want to get sprayed with my own breast milk, let alone the breast milk of strangers. Yak.

The mother wanted to punch him to the testicles. While I agree that mothers should be able to breastfeed in public the violence is never OK, not even if someone says something stupid or offensive. Good thing was that his mother prevented her hitting him.

There is NOTHING sexual about breastfeeding a baby! Just because our culture (Western) focuses too much at female breasts being sexual objects of women's body, it does not mean its breasts only (or even main!) function.

Here's a couple of thoughts: 1, try writing something other than this post on every comments section, and 2, just because it doesn't happen in front of you doesn't mean it didn't happen. If you go outside and interact with the world instead of your phone/handy or the computer you, too might experience some of the weird things that really happen in life.

He was crying I had to feed him .I didn't have any towel handy a man understood my situation and stood with his back to me right in front of me so I could feed my baby. He was so large almost covered all of me. I thanked him after but he smiled and gone.

If anyone says anything, lay down the law : Moms have the right to breastfeed A. NY. WHERE. Period. And give them a finger, just for fun.

Stupid guy. What's the matter with men anyway? Or more specifically, American men? I've seen women nursing their babies at public church events here in Montreal, and nobody made any comments. But white Americans seem to be such prudes. Maybe it matches their hypocrisy?

If only there were more mothers like that out there to slap their sons around the ears with their tongue

You probably got downvoted, because you assumed that this happened somewhere in Europe, when it likely occurred somewhere near where she lives, which is Las Vegas.

Breastfeeding is natural, etc. and she didn't do anything wrong. But I think you should always wear a cover.

I have issues with women who breastfeed in my face when i politely move away when their tits are hanging out. If i move, and you spitefully come stand in my face and start screaming at me, youre the one with the issues not me.

We all know that has never happened to you. Breastfeeding is not about you.

He could have been nicer about it, but yeah... People seem to view sexuality as a bad thing even if it's natural... I'm starting to wonder if that's a bad thing or if it depends on context...

There is NOTHING sexual about breastfeeding a baby! Just because our culture (Western) focuses too much at female breasts being sexual objects of women's body, it does not mean its breasts only (or even main!) function.

I'm sorry, but in this day and age of everyone trying to be popular on social media, especially by portraying themselves as a Victim, it's getting harder and harder to believe these types of things. Maybe it happened, maybe it didn't.

As with many narratives posted on Bored Panda, there is no evidence that this actually happened. I expect that most of these stories are fiction.
