The Rooms of William Faulkner: I Created Eerie Images With Mississippi Landscapes
I created this series titled “The Rooms of William Faulkner” from photographs I took on my iPhone at Rowan Oak, William Faulkner’s former home, as well as landscapes around Mississippi. Interiors and exteriors were combined with the app “Image Blender” to give the photos a well read look like out of one of the pages of Faulkner’s novels (such as “As I Lay Dying” which is a personal favorite).
My goal was to transport the viewer into a world of Mississippi mystery with an outlet to create their own Southern tale when looking at the series. “The Rooms of William Faulkner” took first place in the 2012 essay portion of the Mobile Photography Awards and has been in galleries across the US and Canada.
