Because of the current lockdown situation, I knew I wouldn't be able to give flowers to my mother as every year for Mother's Day. What I could do was to capture a nice photo of flowers and send it to her.
I found this tulip plantation some time ago on the internet. I drove there with my drone to get some nice and colorful pictures from above. Unfortunately, most of the tulips were cut already. But what seemed to be an unpleasant surprise at the beginning turned into a nice surprise afterward. Photos of that field with red tulip cuttings between green trenches seemed to be very abstract and beautiful.
I came back home and searched my archive for more similar photos focused on abstract patterns created by nature or humans. That's how I created a set of 12 photos showing the beauty in abstraction that Mother Earth has for us. I called it "Earth Patterns." Some of them were created only by nature and some show how humans are using this planet. All of them show how our beautiful our planet looks from above. I think that Mother's Day is a great occasion to appreciate Mother Earth by showing her abstract beauty.

Rapeseed is one of the most heat resistant oils. It doesn't break down into toxic particles like vegetable oils do. It is perfect for frying and has a subtle flavour for salad dressings and sauces like mayonnaise.
