It’s not about who we are or what circumstances we were born into. It’s about what we do with the time we are given. This seems truer than ever when you take a look at the marvelous story of how an abandoned baby grew up to become a successful inventor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist. There might be some parallels with Bruce Wayne/Batman and Tony Stark/Ironman here.

30-year-old Freddie Figgers is currently the CEO of a 62 million dollar company that he started when he was just a teenager. He also holds 4 patents and has been dabbling with technology and inventing new things since he was a young boy.

Which just goes to show that it’s not about being born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Rather, anyone can do anything if they have enough grit, willpower, and discipline.

Meet Freddie Figgers. He’s an entrepreneur, inventor, and philanthropist. Kind of like Batman and Ironman

Born in Quincy, Florida, Figgers was abandoned in a dumpster by his mother right after he came into this world. He was adopted by Nathan and Betty Figgers when he was just 2 days old.

Now the founder and CEO of Figgers Communication, Figgers has been inventing and innovating since his childhood. When he was 9 years old, he got his first computer that he fixed up and got working. At 12, he was already working as a computer technician.

Figgers was hailed as a wunderkind!

Despite having been abandoned in a dumpster when he was born, he was on his way to success

What’s more, at the young age of 15, he started a cloud computing company. And when his dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, he built a shoe with a GPS tracker and two-way communication.

“I could pick up the phone and say, ‘Hey dad, where are you at?’ and he doesn’t have to do anything, just lean down and talk into his shoe and I can track his location,” Figgers told the media. “That program was very successful and I had a company reach out to me out of Kansas and they bought the program from me for $2.2 million.”

He also built a shoe with a GPS tracker and two-way communication for his adoptive father who has Alzheimer’s. Figgers sold the program for 2.2 million dollars

A year later, he used the money to found Figgers Communication. Truly inspirational.

At the age of 24, Figgers had built and designed 80 custom software programs. Besides having a brilliant mind and an incredible work ethic, he also has a heart of gold.

Since then, it’s been onwards and upwards!

No matter how successful he became, Figgers always gave back to the community

He’s an active role-model in his community: he sponsors youth programs, offers college scholarships to high school seniors, pays senior citizens’ bills and helps to bail homes in foreclosure.

“I believe turning caring into action, and if you see a problem find a solution to deliver an impact to change someone’s life,” Figgers said to the media. “I’m going to impact this world and change today for a better tomorrow because money is nothing but a tool, but with that tool, we can impact and change everyday people’s lives with opportunities.”

You can listen to the inventor’s life in his own words

People were proud of what he achieved

Storytelling, journalism, and art are a core part of who I am. I've been writing and drawing ever since I could walk—there is nothing else I'd rather do. My formal education, however, is focused on politics, philosophy, and economics because I've always been curious about the gap between the ideal and the real. At work, I'm a Senior Writer and I cover a broad range of topics that I'm passionate about: from psychology and changes in work culture to healthy living, relationships, and design. In my spare time, I'm an avid hiker and reader, enjoy writing short stories, and love to doodle. I thrive when I'm outdoors, going on small adventures in nature. However, you can also find me enjoying a big mug of coffee with a good book (or ten) and entertaining friends with fantasy tabletop games and sci-fi movies.

I give his parents credit, too. Freddie Figgers was born with a gift, but he was raised by loving parents who transmitted positive values. Then he paid it forward.

Wow, this is the kind of news that we should be seeing on a daily basis! Good for him for turning his misfortune around and helping other less fortunate people in the process.
