I’m an amateur photographer who loves dragonflies and damselflies. These aerial predators are best photographed early in the morning, when they are almost hibernated by cool dew. That’s a good opportunity to take nice portraits of them… provided that you have the patience and super-macro equipment.

Yes, it looked like it didn't have much time left. Then again, no dragonfly survives a winter, as far as I know.

I like these insects too. It is interesting how something that is beautiful to us is pure horror to its prey.

are those dragonflies on the bottom sill alive? they look dead =(

??? Which one does look dead to you? All of these photos show live animals in their natural habitat. In fact, one is wiping its eye in the close-up shot.
