Double Exposure Portraits Where I Merge Two Worlds Into One

My name is Alexis, I’m 18 years old, I live in Paris and I practice digital double exposure. I love art and I draw for many years, and I’ve recently started digital work for a better quality of my work.

Usually I spend 3 or 4 hours making one double exposure creation. I love creating unique pieces of art, with a lot of details, I also try to vary every photo as much as possible (nature, city, landscapes, etc…) and work really hard to obtain the best result I can.

I can spend an hour looking at my finished work just to make sure there are no mistakes. When I start a creation I say to myself: “Don’t do like others, do something different, do something that no one has seen”, and then I start my creation with some music in my ears, just doing what I love.

These are not double exposures, but photoshop compositions. You are using photos from other people (e.g. the freediver shot). I hope yu are at least doing this with author's consent.

Perhaps if this person is really only 18yrs old, they still have a lot to learn with regards to infringement, professionalism, and being able to name the way in which their work was made/formed โ€“ but, nonetheless, I find it very visually creative. Some of those pictures really drew me in, so overall I think this person needs informative help in order to become more professional, but also needs to have credit given where it is due with regard to the vision and talent involved here. Encouragement to continue this work..... because, at the end of the day, it is just lovely.... Thanks for sharing, I really enjoyed these pictures.... We all have to start somewhere, :)

I am curious on your process. Is this all in camera or blending in an application like photoshop? The reason I ask is that it is hard to believe you can get the subject to stand in front of glass. The lions are an example of what I mean.

From a creative point of view the images are beautiful, but as itโ€™s been pointed out there may well be copyright infringement on the source images, or maybe they have been bought as stock, it should be clarified, the younger generation of artists and photographers seem to overlook this important subject a lot. Zero responses to these wuestions also raise suspicion. And sadly websites like boredpanda donโ€™t give two hoots about it either, itโ€™s all just clicks.

Really well done! Make sure you use your own images, or use "Public Domain images (royalty-free) as well there are sites like Pixabay where you can get images you can use without attribution. BUT that doesn't mean you don't have to follow legal constraints, like model or property release, etc. It's not as complicated as it sounds.

If I use one of the pictures for my school project poster, is it ok if I put the name of the artist into the poster (for example left corner) or not ok to use it at all?.. Sorry for asking, but in my country there are different laws about material shared online and I don t want to offence you as an artist.. Thanks

For me, they are too fantastical. don't get me wrong, an AMAZING photograph of this planet photoshopped to be unrealistic mixed with a studio photograph looks great. I am a double exposure photographer, both digital and film, and i know the processes but here i don't see a series or more importantly, anything you are interested in. They are all different and there are too many. Are any of these your photographs? Did you just take them from someplace online and add them in photoshop? I have created an offshoot of my #doubleexposeeurope project to create things like 'giants in the city', musicians and architecture, nature vs. urban landscapes and I think you need to hone your idea to something more personal. They are great, but too much and over the top. Keep it up and find what you like about it 1924446_10...fe976d.jpg 1924446_10152284206233324_1168939171_n-57643fafe976d.jpg
