I get on my family’s nerves because every single time I see a dog in public I say, “You see that pretty baby over there? He really wants me to pet them” & then I walk by & say, “Hey Pretty!” Since I know ppl don’t want to stop over & over for ppl to love on their pups - it takes a lot of effort to not pet them all.

That's not accurate. Yes, some dogs do need entropion surgery to correct the defect in their eye lids so their eye lashes are not inverted and rubbing against their eyeball. Many dogs (and humans) are born with birth defects that need correcting.

I once actually choose a specific breed to be my car dog. One that would calmly and cheerfully go anywhere with me, even if the dog never gets out of the car. These days I don't need to drive around so much so I use that time to be away from my shadows, if just for a little while.

This picture is from Budapest, we have many homeless people, who use the public transport, and their clothes are in much worse condition than this dog. (The hungarian government lets down everybody who is underprivileged, there are not enough shelters and the government does everything to destroy the NGOs.)

My Pyr spends most of her time lying/wallowing in the dirt. She can be bathed back to a gorgeous pure white but looks like this an hour later so she gets one or two baths per year, max. This sweetheart looks a bit matted on the back of her legs and I might be tempted to snip out those mats (if they're there), but brushing these dogs is a huge, daunting task and they do just fine au natural. As long as this pup is healthy and happy and loved, that's all that really matters, isn't it?

No, it is what is called a Gentle Leader. It helps with dogs pulling. When they pull it pushes down on the top of the muzzle. Basically they do it to themselves and learn not to pull. My friend has used it on many dogs, and it's not painful or cruel.

I'm 6'2, covered in tattoos and have a chihuahua named Petunia. She's my little flower girl and the stinkiest flower in the garden 😊. She doesn't stink, but when she comes in from outside, she has that puppy smell. Lol

If you put a 4-legged animal in an upright position, you can hurt their spines, since they're not evolved for that. Even us, humans, have a lot of spine problems for this reason and we evolved for that. Don't put your pets in these things

I know. So many people are under constant threat of me running off with their pets. Of course I wouldn’t because it would break their hearts, but oh my goodness, it is SO tempting. Classic poodle cuts have all sorts of weird spherical or hemispherical poofs..back in the mists of time when they were used as hunting and water dogs retrieving hunted prey from ponds etc, they'd leave extra hair over important joints and muscles [which eventually evolved into detailed poofs]

Poodles also have two types of hair and owners with corded hair poodles can't ever get a poof. The poodles that have very curly hair can get poofed. But nowadays most pet poodles have "puppy clip" cuts which is uniformly medium short all over with sometimes more decorative on face

It's done because that cut protects the vital organs and joints. The breed originated in Northern Germany and this cut was done to protect against the harsh cold water there (as the breed is a water retriever).

I’m not a pup owner (I love them but my kitty doesn’t) but I have a serious question- if you put a muzzle on a pup, as I have seen many people do while out for walks, doesn’t that make it hard (almost impossible) for pup to ‘pant’ and sweat? Especially when it’s quite warm out? Please Puppy parents, fill me in, are they okay? Edit: spelling

Dachshunds suffer horribly from back issues. It's incredibly unfair to continue breeding dogs that have such unstable anatomy that a high proportion will either need surgery or will be pts because of it. Cuteness is not an excuse for cruel breeding.
