Sad Dog Found Abandoned In A Field With A Note On Her Neck

Meet Tessa the doggie, who was found tied up in a field with a ‘I don’t want a dog’ note written by her new owner who dumped her just days after taking the dog in. She used to belong to Yvonne Radcliffe, a 76-year-old lady who recently moved to Canada. She didn’t take her pooch with her worrying the doggie would be too old to survive the flight. The woman left her beloved dog to her neighbor whom she had known for 9 years.

Radcliffe’s son Paul Edwardson, 38, who found out about Tessa after seeing a Facebook appeal, commented: “[The neighbor] told her that he had always wanted a dog… that he was “building a run for her” and was “so happy to have her”.

“When I rang my mum and told her [about Tessa], she immediately started crying her eyes out. She kept repeating “what has happened to my dog?”

The man added: “There has been no remorse from the neighbour at all. There has to be much tougher punishments for this kind of offence.

Luckily, Alan Webster, who runs the South Yorkshire Pet Ambulance service, was fundraising at the car boot near the field where Tessa was left that day. He rescued the poor doggie and now she is being looked after by the animal rescue volunteers.

If they said no the original owner would have had a chance to find a loving home for this dog, or at least give it to a shelter, but nooo instead this dumbass promises to take care of the dog and then dumps the poor old thing? "OMG yes I would LOVE to take in your dog!! I can FEED it and take CARE of it! You can count on me!" *later* "Hmm. I wonder what dogs eat... Oh! I know! Tea, coffee and watered down milk! I am SO smart. Who needs the internet anyway? I know how to take of a dog ALL BY MYSELF!" *2 days later* "You know what? I'm done. This is SO hard! I have to feed it EVERY SINGLE DAY, take it out to use the bathroom! This is crazy! So long, sucker. Just sit in this field. Goodbye." Seriously. WHY? If you think your dog should drink TEA you shouldn't have a dog! And the BEST way to dispose of a dog is by abandoning it! *sarcasm*

Why "reluctantly" say yes if you don't want a dog? I know English people have a hard time saying "no", but saying "yes" then abandoning it isn't helping his ex-neighbour. What an idiot. Next time you don't want a dog, take it to a shelter. Even better, when someone offers you a dog, say "no". Lying about doing someone a favour, isn't doing someone a favour. Some people are halfwits. More than 40% of the English population has a below-average IQ.

There is a risk:S It depends on the race and the age of the dog of course. But generally there is really humane ways to transport your dog - they shove him/her into some part with the cargo in the plane (where it is pretty cold) for hours in a crate:S I will move soon also, and I am desperately looking for better ways to bring my doggo, and even though he is a puppy yet, I am afraid what might happen to him through the flight. He might not die, but a broken leg is bad enough. I think it was a responsible decisionfrom the old lady to leave the dog behind.

The neighbour is a d**k clearly. But the owner? You don't move away and abandon your dog EVER. It is not property, it is an animal who feels abandonment but can't understand why it's been abandoned. Take the poor girl with you or don't go. A dog is for life - end of.

She didn't abandon her dog. She feared the old thing would die on the flight, and thought she had left it in good hands with a neighbor it knew. (Read the story.)

I saw on a YouTube video that Tessa is now up for adoption. I'm not sure where though. I saw the video on the channel Inside Edition.

What happened to the little dog? Is someone trying to reunite her with her original owner? Come on Internet Peeps, can we find a way to send her safely to her little old lady owner? She must be heart broken to hear about what happened.

Ikr exactly. If they'd just said no at least the owner would have cared enough to find someone else or take the dog to a shelter.

Can you hold on with these stories until you get an outcome and can let us know how the dog is getting on. Obviously stories about abandoned dogs are doing well for you but at least let us know the poor thing is rehomed.

The SPCA truck has a phone number and it looks like it has 24/7 service, would it have been that difficult to just dial the number?

I wonder, is there really a risk that the doggie wouldn't survive the flight? (I don't know). And so cruel that neighboor. Thank goodness someone rescue the poor doggie.

But the worst part is that we don't know what happened to the dog. Did someone save her? We really need a happy ending to this sad sad story.
