Agreed. It'd be nice if the world worked that way... but it doesn't. The good suffer needlessly all over the planet, and the wicked have prospered and lived happy lives throughout history - and will continue to do so. For now, im absolutely happy that those psychopath bitches got pissed off after loosing their smart tortured dog meant to be a money income, only to realize that now, that same dog is in a home 100 times better they would ever get. I Wish the best for those poor good boys n girls that are unfairly fated to a horrible destiny... i wish for all the cages to open and the psychos get their feet tied up together, while the dogs run free. Pigs are smarter than dogs. We shouldn't act like animals like cows, pigs, chickens or sheep are any less worthy of a long, good life without slaughter just because we habitually abuse them.

WHY THE HELL "WE" HAVE TO KILL ANY LIVING BREATHING SENTIENT BEING ???? ... when it causes us chronic, painful inflammation (like arthritis), chronic diseases (like diabetes), heart diseases/clogged arteries, various forms of cancer, etc.???? When it (the animal agriculture) is totally destroying our planet (global warming, deforestation, methane pollution, toxins, etc.) When "we" cause unconscionable pain and suffering to animals, it does not matter if they are chickens, cows, turkeys or dogs or cats, all animals feel pain, fear for their lives, want to live and be happy just like you, Amanita muscaria!!!!! Do you understand it???? Looking at how our planet and all life it supports is suffering and dying - thanks to "human" beings - apparently you don't. Go and visit the slaughterhouse and then look at yourselves in the mirror.

Frankly, as long as you do not only eat organic meat products (or no meat products at all), your argument does not hold. Factory farming of beef and other meats also means a life in agony for any of the animals kept there. Pigs and cows are known to be intelligent and caring; chicken might not be as bright as them but their are undoubtedly social and sentient. I will not judge whether humans are entitled to eat animals or not, but raising them in any ways but to those standard of organic meat it undoubtedly unethical, and anyone eating meat with arguments like "I cannot afford organic" supports this cruelty, although it is hidden away from us in the Western world.

Please join/support any reputable animal protection organization, sigh petitions, speak out against animal cruelty, support those who fight for them in the field financially if you can, every little makes a big difference, spread the word about these atrocities and how they influence human behavior. - "The link between animal cruelty and violence against humans is undeniable."

By companion animal I mean all animals bc every animal is just like our beloved pets. I wish we'd do away w animal slaughter all together. It's horrible for climate change that will be our karma for all this abuse and death.

If you can, please support reputable animal protection organization, sign petitions to help spare as many animals unconscionable pain and suffering as much as possible. Or support any animal sanctuary, including farm animal sanctuary, there you will not see how much those lucky survivors suffer prior to their rescue.

To claim it's a way of life is the lazy way out. If that kind of thinking would have been applied to slavery, nothing would have changed. No life should be depending on the sufferings of other lives, it doesn't have to be like that.

What about that would never happen to any animal? It is possible, it would keep our planet alive and clean, free of deadly bacteria and viruses and human bodies healthy and free of chronic pain. The compassionate diet, universal kindness is a win - win - win situation.

I know someone stated something similar elsewhere. But eating dog/cat/horse/cows these are all cultural differences. I dont think that the inhumane conditions are acceptable dont get me wrong but we view dogs and cats not as food simply because they are domesticated animals. If they were raised as chickens, cows, or hogs then we'd only think of them as livestock.

Every day about 227,000 people are added to our planet and are/will raise billions upon the billions of animals for "food", even if they will eat less meat - it'll still cause destruction of our planet.
