Well, I still think it's hilarious. This clever self-regulating dog ate as much as it could and left the rest. It's not that it happens every day. Nice pancreatitis you got there. Oh wait, this was meant for the dog. Speaking like that only shows how little you know about animal health and the complications of eating too much (human) food. Not the mention the turkey probably was seasoned with ingredients toxic to dogs, like pepperm onions, etc. Probably had a lot of fat to taste so "yummy". I'm sure those ALT/AST liver levels are pretty high up. But who cares, the dog might have died, but she didn't, so that makes for a funny story, right? Maybe if the dog had died this story wouldn't even be here, and their Christmas would be ruined because of a "slip" of attention on their part.
