Do You Have Any Christmas Traditions That Are Unique To You Or Your Family And Friends?
Several years ago, I was telling a co-worker about some of the things my family does every Christmas, including some things that drove me crazy. She quickly pointed out that the things we felt obligated to do, even if we hated them, were rituals. The things we enjoyed doing every year were the actual traditions. Since then, I've tried to root out the rituals that suck out my energy and repeat only those things that bring the family and myself joy.
What are your traditions? What things do you look forward to every year, the ones that make you laugh, that fill you with warmth? Maybe you'll find a new tradition to start.

My children & I always made & decorated gingerbread people for the tree. With the scent of a fir tree with gingerbread , we always enjoyed the tree more. Who care, if by the time the tree came down, if my son or daughter had munched off a leg or two... friends & family, also, made small stuffed felt animals & people to give our trees meaning. These handmade ornaments still are placed on the tree every year & are rich in memories. This is my first year alone , & , these memories make me smile & add comfort to me.
Haha, the fact that the gingerbread people were half-eaten makes it even better!
