We Made A Christmas Tree From An Old Tire, A Bucket, And 40Ft Of PVC Pipe

My husband and I make an unconventional tree every December. This year we used an old tire painted white and cut up 40 ft of PVC pipe to create the tree shape.

A plastic bucket from Home Depot was thrown in to add another large circular shape. After securing each piece with hot glue we used gold painted accents, ornaments, and fairy lights for decorations. Enjoy!

This is how it looked finished

This is what we used

Cutting PVC into small circles with a circular saw

3 different sized PVC for size variation

Hot glue worked surprisingly well to place the PVC and bucket pieces at different angles

Finished!

Watch how we made it in the video below:

You've made not only a tree, but art! I like your idea of putting it in the yard afterwards

Thank you! Yes, I'm thinking decorating it for each season outside. Next year it could look pretty neat in the snow!

This Christmas Tree is better than the original ones... I'd so much rather have that in my home :DD

Very Nice! Just hope they will be able to fit it through the doorway when they need to put it away!

What an innovative idea! I see people like this and get inspired, then i remember that I’m too much of a lazy bum to do something like this

There is an easier version of a pvc tree Martha Sterwart did that's just 2D. Still something fun without the hassle!

This somehow reminded me of the opening scene from Edward Scissor Hands! :D This is so creative, and what a STUNNING result! (Also love the message on the bucket "Let's do this" xD) I aree that it would be a great idea to auction it in the case you don't wish to keep it

Thank you! Funny this is the we didn't notice the message on the bucket until we started filming. It was a happy accident! xD

This is really cool, but I was hoping it was up-cycled plastic. it would be cool-er.

I agree, but as an upcycler myself I'm sure once we're done with it I will just upcycle all the parts into another project etc :) I waste nothing! lol
