Some people really enjoy the thrill that comes with fear. It makes them feel alive. Things like rollercoaster rides and horror movies are often associated with the release of adrenaline and endorphins, creating a unique and exhilarating sensation.
But there might be an even simpler way to explore your limits — a subreddit dedicated exclusively to interesting yet terrifying content. The pictures that its 670K members share allow everyone to do so from the safety of their screens.
So continue scrolling to check out the intense bed bug infestations, old torture masks, and other scary pieces this online community keeps in its collection.

The Man Who Flooded A Town For Sex
In 1993, a man named James Scott purposely damaged a levee and caused a massive flood of the Mississippi River only to stall his wife from coming home so that he could party.
His actions flooded 14,000 acres of farmland, destroyed buildings, and closed a bridge. He was convicted of "intentionally causing a catastrophe" and is still in prison serving a life sentence.
He may be innocent of that since it was some odd thing in the trial, as one of the main whitnesses having a major financial interest in having the cause being vandalism and not natural. However, as he has commited several arsons and burglaries he does belong in jail.

What Was It
This happened in April last year. A crocodile photographer & conservationist, Tom Chalmers Hayes, who went to the scene suggested it was a trophy hunter's killing. He posted a message on social media stating that there were "...very clear machete marks...on the body and around the neck area where the head has been removed."

It's not just illegal drugs that can do this unfortunately. "Thalidomide was a widely used drug in the late 1950s and early 1960s for the treatment of nausea in pregnant women. It became apparent in the 1960s that thalidomide treatment resulted in severe birth defects in thousands of children."
A Still From A Video Of A Huge Wolf Wandering Around Yellowstone National Park, 2017
The return of wolves to Yellowstone has improved the ecology of the area immensely - even up to changing and improving the courses of rivers that run through it. Wolves RULE.
... are there seriously people who are surprised there are wolves in *Yellowstone*? That's like one of the things it's specifically famous for
They had been eradicated decades ago and were reintroduced quite recently.
Load More Replies...It looks scary, but it's 100% the lighting. The wolves of Yellowstone are not as big as imagined, though. They are around 2.5 feet at the shoulder, and 5.5 feet in length without the tail, and weight 80-100 lb. Large, but not the giants that are shown on horror movies. They do, however, have massively powerful jaws. Colleagues working on wolves in the Canadian Rockies would bait traps with roadkill which was frozen solid. The wolves managed to tear apart and eat that frozen meat.
Yah the reflected light in the wolf's eyes probably puts people off.
Load More Replies...He's smiling like "yeah, I'm *that* wolf, b*tches!"
Wait. That’s the year my family went there. That is fricking terrifying.

this is a pic of a puppy. It didn't kill anyone, didn't get harmed in any way, hasn't gotten sick and is still around with it's owner who takes care of it. It's just a beautiful puppy that you should look at because this list was frankly, traumatizing. Screenshot...79-png.jpg
I don't mind this kind of "creepy but fascinating" content. I DO mind that when I click on an article showing wildlife photography, I'm greeted with pictures of dead animals. Now I just don't click on wildlife photography pictures. I can still see that poor dead owl in my mind. :(
For anyone who needs an eye bleach from all this, please know we rescued six cats from an abandoned house last night, we cleaned and dewormed them, they had a full meal, and are now happily sleeping in their warm new beds.
I was thinking these would be more "spooky" and "creepy" disturbing than "actually tragic" disturbing 😓
Some of these are interesting but I can’t handle this s**t about violence against children. Cancel this s**t.
WE DONT WANT REDDIT COPY PASTES! THESE ARTICLES ARE COOL AND INTERESTING! NO MORE AITA FROM REDDIT ITS BORING
I can't be the only who feels like there has to be some warning in these cause the rabies one is actually traumatising (for me at least it's now in my top 3 fears)
When I clicked on this, I was hoping to feel better about my life and how lucky I am, but now I feel worse and sad
