Artist Gives Disney Princesses A New Look (9 Transformations)
Interview With ArtistFor those of you Pandas out there who love Disney, drawing, and design, you’re bound to enjoy We Call It Disney’s art. Artist Marta Sánchez García, who runs the Instagram page, redesigned and upgraded the dresses that Disney princesses wear and the results are stunning.
Marta is especially proud of Pocahontas’ dress because that’s the one that she actually fully designed herself. “She is my favorite princess and she doesn’t get enough credit,” she told Bored Panda.
“The dresses that artists, including Disney artists, design for her are very boring and unappealing, in my opinion, so I was dying to do her justice and something modern that would represent her.” Scroll down for the rest of our chat with Marta, check out her drawings, and let us know which dresses you liked the most, dear Readers!

“People usually associate beige and blue with Pocahontas because those are the only colors she wears in the movie. This is a mistake that Disney designers make when It comes to her because Pocahontas represents all the colors in nature, even her song talks about all the colors of the wind!” the artist said.
“That’s why I make sure to represent all those colors in her dress, keeping the beige as the main one as a nod to the original. It was also very flowy, nothing corseted like the others. Pocahontas is the drawing that has the most likes, I am so happy people appreciate it.”
According to the artist, it takes her roughly 6 to 7 hours, split over 2 days, to complete each drawing. Of course, that depends on whether or not she’s motivated, but Marta told us that she usually is (otherwise she doesn’t finish the drawings).
“The redesigns for the dresses are from the Disney Midnight Masquerade collection. The dolls are absolutely stunning and I just had to draw those dresses into the animated princesses using the style of each one of their movies,” the artist told Bored Panda.
While Marta considers herself to be an artist, she hasn’t chosen that path in life. “I am currently studying journalism and I constantly think about whether I made the right choice,” she shared some of her worries.
“I love art and I couldn’t live without it in my life, but I guess it is more of a hobby than a job. Disney and art are a perfect combination of two worlds I love and this account gives me the perfect place to express it.”
Here’s what people thought of the artist’s drawings. Some loved them while others weren’t so sure if they liked them
I skipped the article ("Here's more boring 'Disney Princess C**p' for you.") and came straight to the comments. I wasn't disappointed.
The people at Boredpanda are indeed trolling us. This is a cruel joke they are playing on their audience. For a while, there was such an outcry they stopped with this nonsense but started it back up. They have been unresponsive to the comments from their viewers.
I didn't like this post, your turning the princesses, who, most of them, are teenage girls, into 30 year old looking women!
Seriously? Pocahontas's dress was meant to be functional and at least somewhat accurate.
jasmine and snow white are the only ones who really changed everyone else just got to hold a stupid mask on a stick
they are wonderful but i think that the masqurade masks seem tacky and pocahontas's outfit doesn't look right and the same for jasmine
I'm just going to curl up with a giant bag of crisps and enjoy the chaos of the comment section. I am starting to think that Bored Panda is secretly trolling us after all the reactions on the prior "Disney Princesses" reimagined posts.
Look, I get it. Lonely guys have a thing for Disney princesses. That's why we get a - 'dude redrew Disney princesses, in yet another way' - post every week. But It wouldn't hurt to be just a little bit more inclusive with your posts. Ok, so the poor thing is an alien who's had problems in her family, and she probably had to drink the blue milk of a space manatee, one or twice. However since the year 2012 she is most definitely a Disney princess. So what I wanna ask you guys is, where the hell is LEIA ?
Oh. Just what I needed. My daily dose of Disney princesses in some shape/color.
Yeah my bad I just love Disney cause I'm a kid but I get why you guys are getting kinda annoyed
