30 Random Feel-Good Posts Shared By The “Delightful News” Instagram Page
Interview With AuthorIt's hard to remain positive when the world around us is so gloomy; environmental, political and people-related issues can become all-consuming, leaving us stressed and, at times, hopeless.
In the past couple of years, people's lives have changed drastically. Take the pandemic, for instance. Out of the blue, we were hit with a harsh reality that promised us nothing more than an unstable future. In fact, many folks are struggling to this day because, as it turns out, letting the negativity go is not as easy as it used to be.
Everyone has their own little routine that helps them to get away from all the negative messages that life occasionally throws at us; some enjoy a relaxing stroll in their nearby park, others love to surf through their social media feed in the hopes of finding something entertaining that will be able to ease their mind.

Bored Panda has contacted the creator of the "Delightful News," Joseph Yomtoubian, and asked him to tell us about the page and the people behind it: "I started the page in October 2021, I have a number of meme pages already such as @thetinderblog and @memesbyjoe. I do enjoy making people laugh, but I felt as though I wanted to do more. I decided to start a wholesome/feel-good page called @delightfulnews and the response was overwhelming to say the least".
The man then added: "I have received so many positive messages from people. One of which I will never forget - 'I spent the last 30 minutes crying over your posts. I didn't know there was such joy in the world'. Nothing has ever made me feel so good about what I do. As a result, I decided to create a 2nd wholesome page called @dailyhappystories where I share happy stories every day!"
It just so happens that sometimes our lives get bombarded with dark, negative things; they eat us up and our once high-spirited way of living turns into this anxiety-ridden mess.
We asked Joseph to tell us why good news matter, to which he replied: "people forget that there is good in the world. When you turn on the news, or read the news online, all you see are the negative headlines, but we don't see the good news in the world; i.e. a deaf child receiving a hearing aid and hearing their mother's voice for the first time and the smile that comes along with it, or the child who learned sign language to communicate with their deaf postman."
"I am praying this reaches this young mans parents!!! Tonight as I was leaving football practice with my three kiddos my 4 year old was so tired he started crying and acting a fool as we were getting in the van. My 7 year old daughter started crying because I told her we were having red potatoes as a side for dinner and clearly she wasn’t a fan sooo I threw my hands up and said FORGET it - McDonald’s tonight!! We go through the drive through order food all three kids are now crying for one reason or the other I go to pay - I LEFT MY PURSE AT HOME. Welp now I wanted to cry. I look at the young man with tears in my eyes just from being stressed and annoyed and say “hun I am so sorry but I have to cancel that order I left my purse at home when we went to football tonight” WITHOUT HESITATION he takes out his wallet and swipes his card before I could even say “no I will be right back!” I was like wait no hun it’s ok I will come back through then he replies “no it’s totally fine, my pleasure”. I snapped a quick picture and asked his name to which he replied Wyatt ma’am. I told him I would be right back with cash for him & he tried hard to talk me out of it. I just want his parents to know how KIND & COMPASSIONATE your son was tonight! He made this stressed out momma pause for a moment and realize this is exactly what we parents are trying to do, raise great humans. Well Wyatt sir, you are an amazing human!!! I went back and handed him cash and had to make him take it because he didn’t want to take more than he had paid but I wanted him to know that when you put good out in the world it comes back to you ten fold! Wyatt, do not let this world change your kind heart young man for its people like YOU that will change this world for the better!"
Although browsing through your social media feed is an exceptionally effective way of escaping that jarring reality, it's not a secret that it can also be quite damaging. Apart from providing numerous platforms for entertainment purposes, we're often faced with bullying, unrealistic expectations about body image and, perhaps, life in general.
We assume that we're keeping up with the world and its wonders, yet everything that we see is a carefully curated version of people and their lifestyles.
Judging by how overwhelming the web can be, the "Delightful News" creator said that in order for the platforms to become more positive, people would have to "change their narrative and not allow the negative/trolls to rain on their parade."
Joseph mentioned that it's easy for people to hide behind a keyboard and bully other people, but folks need to remember that just because it's easy for them to do it, this doesn't mean that it's correct.
"Be the light that the world needs, and that can be in any capacity, not just social media," says Joseph – and it's true, most of us are so busy absorbing the gloom that falls upon us that we forget our own purpose.
The healthcare system is so fricked up. They put profit over lives. I hope the people who decide that they would rather murder others and get rich then save them and not be as rich, go to bed every night and have nightmares of what they’ve done and their pillow is always warm. Props to this guy for making it affordable!
But regardless of all the unpleasant side effects that are often brought to us by social media, it still remains one of the most exciting developments in recent history. Bored Panda hopes that you've enjoyed this ensemble of lightweight posts from the "Delightful News" page!
"So today this little boy came into the store and asked me 'where do you guys have the cheapest shoes?' so I showed him were they are. So I asked him. If these where for school. He said yea. I looked at his feet and saw the shoes that he was wearing were destroyed. Literally they were breaking apart. I asked him if he wore that for the first day of school and he said yes. He told me in a low voice a story and that sh*t broke my heart. I told him. Don't worry. Pick any shoe you like. He said why 'I'm not gonna have the money' I told him 'don't worry, I'll buy them for you.'he was like 'really?!!' I said yea of course. He got his favorite shoes. And I told him to make me a promise. To get good grades and be good in school. He said he promises. He kept telling me this is unreal and couldn't believe it was happening. So my new buddy walked of of finish line with a brand new pair of shoes for the school year.. Nothing makes me more happy than seeing someone with a smile on there face. Helping people is the best gift god has given me. Have a good school year. Bless up."

"Meet Satchel. He is the only employee here at Homewood Suites in Beaumont. The access road is underwater and I10 is shut down due to flooding. We can’t get in or go out. The hotel a mile from us is under water. Satchel has been here all night. His coworkers couldn’t make it to work so he stayed. He has manned the phones, answered each of our questions, ensured that we have had a hot cup of coffee or tea, and helped serve us a hot breakfast. He has handled this situation with grace, kindness, and a beautiful smile on his face. Sometimes we ask ourselves why God allows things to happen but we are not designed to understand his ways. I do think that sometimes He allows things to happen so we can be His light and share the love of Christ with others. I have seen a big teddy bear of a man washing dishes and serving eggs, a little grandmother wiping down tables, and a man drenched from head to toe because he crossed i10 to deliver bottles of water to truck drivers who have been stranded on i10. We saw a helicopter land at the hotel adjacent to us where the parking lot is underwater. Someone had to be flown out. I’m looking at my table and see a leftover bagel from breakfast, my hot cup of tea, my cozy socks, and dry tennis shoes. I am thankful for each of these things and for the peace in knowing that my family is safe and sound. Please pray for us and that we can each make it home safely to each of our families. If you know Satchel, tell him he is our hero! He gave me permission to share his picture. What an example of how to handle yourself in a crisis! Goodness gracious! I will stay here next time just knowing that despite whatever happens, I will have someone putting our needs above his own needs. Thank you Satchel for taking care of us here at Homewood in Beaumont. 😊"

Agreed! I could do with less AITA posts as well. THIS, however, was a lovely read and made me smile :)
Load More Replies...I didn’t know I need these until after I went through each post. It brought a smile to my face and I feel happier. Thank you.
