Death-Inspired Love Comics That I Create To Cope With My Depression

Hello! This is Haenuli, I am a fashion designer who owns a small brand and also an artist. My biggest hobby is drawing and doing creative stuff, but I didn’t expect so many support with some of my drawings! Hope you like my drawings.

When I visited the Paris Orsay museum, I saw many paintings but one old painting by Marianne Stoke (“Young girl and the angel of death”), that was Death-like; stood out to me. It was very interesting in human history how Death or Depression were messages and metaphors. They were shown in many different ways and forms throughout time.

This gave me so much inspiration in dealing with my own depression. I thought about my lost friends, broken hearts and hard times that I’ve been through. I wanted to accept my depression and I started to draw with short messages.

Even dark things give comfort, and often depression is the odd comfort for knowing us well. I hope you enjoy my drawings, my book will be published soon. Thank you for reading!

Coping with depression is a hard task, your flight into these drawings makes them masterpieces of expression. Hope you make it through.

I LOVE these drawings!! I have to admit when I was 8 my parents split and I had a LOT of responsibility put on me and I felt like I would break and I had suicidal thoughts occasionally I'm 12 now and I'm better now,I never told anybody because even though I was struggling I didn't wan't them to worry because they had a lot going on to. I literally have tears in my eyes writing this,it was a very hard time for me,I had to look after 3 of my younger siblings mostly by myself and my my big brother and my baby brother were with my mom and I felt like someone had picked me up,put me in a blender, took me out and tried to put me back together 4 yrs later and I'm still dealing with this while cutting off contact with my mother because we fought all the time and I don't want my siblings in that toxic environment.

I've suffered with depression for almost a decade (and I'm only 20). These comics actually brought a smile to my face, even though I regularly have panic attacks when thinking about the inevitability of death. Contrary to (unfortunately) common misconceptions and stereotypes, people with depression usually fear death to an unhealthy degree, we don't want it to happen.

Get a job and try to stay as busy as you can. Focus on other people and the world around you.Your self absorption is making you ill but you can escape from it. Devote yourself to service of the least of those around you. This will bring you peace.

Please, no. That's insulting to everyone who suffers from genuine depression, as it bears the accusation that they are lazy, self absorbed unaccomplished people. Some of the most creative and accomplished peoples in the history of mankind suffered from episodes of extreme depressioni. Words like yours rather drag people into further depression as most of them struggle with extreme and tiresome selfdoubt down to real selfhate. No one enjoys suffering from depression.
