People Are Cracking Up At These 40 Dark Memes And Posts About Nature, The Planet, And All Living Things, As Shared By This Facebook Group
Nope, climate change has not magically disappeared. Yep, the world is still burning. Though, the planet is not on a collision course with the Sun or anything, but even that would be a less problematic end to what’s actually in store for humanity if it doesn’t move its bum to do something about it.
Since there is no “on hold” button when it comes to the apocalypse—or parts thereof—I think it’s about time for another friendly reminder that we should all do something about the well-being of our little biological ball in the vast cosmos we call space because we have no choice any more.
And what better way to do it than in the language of the internet—memes. Incidentally, there’s a Facebook group chock full of memes that hit the spot when it comes to ecology, and that is Dank Memes For Dark Ecological Beings (hey, here’s another one for the nominal collections of memes we’ve talked about here).
So, strap yourself in and hit the scroll wheel (or tap the screen, or use a trackball, or, in fact, use any other mode of human-to-computer interface) to see the top memes shared in the group to date, and why not upvote, comment and spread some knowledge on how folks can help the planet in the comment section below!

I almost hit a bird once, it must have been going after a bug, because it was at windshield level. Instead it just got picked up by the aerodynamic pressure and landed on the street a little dazed. It got back up and flew away. I know because I pulled over to check.
Ummm. Y'all live somewhere that does not have mosquitos??? I love that people are excited about giving animals a bit of water, but there are better ways than a filthy cobblestone.
So, the viral Facebook page was created over 2 years ago, in early February of 2020. In context, that was just before the Covid-19 pandemic got out of hand and took the world by storm. And if you track time on the basis of Harambe, then that’s nearly 4 years after.
Anywho, since then, the group has amassed over 25,600 members in total, and over 400 in just the last week. The group shares memes of a predominantly ecological nature that slap you sideways with their reality. No, really, they very often point out a deeply rooted dark truth behind all that entertainment you’re getting.
Though there are some stray ones that still fit just the dark side of things.
New WWF campaign The report, which calls on Governments to take drastic action to fight the plastic soup and also advocates that much more research needs to be done, is accompanied by a new campaign launched by the WWF. The campaign has the shocking weekly amount of 5 grams of plastic that a person ingests as its theme. This is compared to daily objects such as a pen, a credit card or a dice
And speaking of content, to be precise, the page’s memescape deals with everything from climate politics to humanity’s effect on nature to consumerism to straight up social issues.
It does make you think when someone says “a bug hit my windshield”, when it was actually you going the speed of light in the eyes of the bug. Or how you can “beat” climate change with your fancy electric car, when 100 companies in the world generate 71% of the world’s global emissions. Or this. Just this.
If anything, these memes point out all that’s actually wrong with the world, humanity and its so-called progress. And when the memes aren’t serious, they’re witty. You go, hermit crab! It really is free real estate.
Yep. The rich got richer but they had to learn how to live without and most didn't make it. Win with a loss.
I think god accidentally put glitter in my veins, that or I miss-clicked on my character selection to the matrix.
If, by the way, you’re wondering how the planet is doing, then the short answer is the trends don’t look good.
According to NASA’s heat map (like, a literal one), over 140 years, the planet has been consistently getting warmer because of things like industry and pollution, with 2016 and 2020 being the hottest years yet.
It also published side-by-side pictures showing just how real climate change is with all the droughts, wildfires and other apocalyptic scenarios happening on our lovely blue-green ball blasting through space. Oh, it’s not worried about the calamity—we’re the ones who need to worry, though.
That’s not what ALL of America looks like, this is just what it looks like whenever you need a restroom stop during a car ride.
Bees are my favorite! I love going outside in the morning just to watch them fly around my garden, there's like 5 different types. So busy, never angry, just happy to visit all of the flowers!
I live in Florida, and I'm about to buy a boat because my property is about to be oceanfront!
While some might think that we’re screwed regardless, hope dies last, and the next thing for those hopeful is to google “how to stop global warming” and to take it from there. The United Nations Act Now campaign provides an app to help motivate and track actions that push away the tide of climate change with over 9.5 million actions already taken as of this article.
And you can actually begin right now by turning off your phone screen to conserve energy and maybe take a walk and do some bird-watching in the park instead of opting for screen-based entertainment.
Do it.
Won’t even ask you to upvote and comment. Tackling climate change is more important.

I mean, it feels good to feel like you help, (even if it doesn’t do much).
I'm not even going to get started on this one ... just to get my third ban from non believers :)
Like that day we were coming back from school and that t-rex was chasing us for a mile? Such fun times.
How are billionaires supposed to amass even more wealth if they comply with environmental regulations? They could lose $100 million dollars or more if they followed those regulations! Just let them pay the $250k fine, there are only a handful of billionaires in this world, we don't want them going extinct!
There are so many comments saying they are covering up nasty ones but that always draws attention to them. Just don’t mentions the comment and some people won’t look (not saying you can’t, just advising against it)
Hear hear! It's a rather childish reaction to something as well. I'm also not even sure why it's 'nasty' to say a fish has no soul. I don't agree, I think animals do, but it's not as if they were advocating harming the fish. That would be nasty. If something is offensive, report it. If you don't agree with an opinion say why or just move on.
Load More Replies...Nasty comment? There is none, literally made a joke about a fish having no soul (sole) so they can't walk. Y'all are smth else "covering a bad comment" my booty
Covering a nasty comment, upvote if you believe in dinosaur supremacy
There is no 'nasty' comment. Someone believing something different to you is not, objectively nasty. Don't try and control what other people look at.
Load More Replies...There are some kinds of "walking" fish. The one this made me think of is the so-called "tripod fish".
Now you can report 'nasty' comments instead - just be sure they are GENUINELY nasty. Which the one you all 'covered' was not. This was just your opinion being different from someone else's. You can disagree but say why instead. Don't just think you have the right to decide what people are reading with this 'covering' nonsense.
Load More Replies...Nothing actually nasty. They said "a fish that has no soul just decided to walk???!!! I think not." Copied from below as the comment is still there, just downvoted to extreme. You might disagree with the view but there is nothing objectively nasty in thinking fish don't have souls. It isn't advocating cruelty, it isn't hate speech, it isn't using offensive language, it doesn't even mean that the person thinks fish don't matter. Many of us are not a fan of a few random Bored Panda members deciding that they think they can control who reads certain comments. People need to stop with the 'covering' a comment nonsense. Downvoting or reporting a comment is perfectly sufficient.
Load More Replies...Confusius say " A fish with no sole will get very dirty feet".
Load More Replies...Excessive fertilizer use is an environmental concern. The thing is that nitrogen is a limiting-factor. Want to grow plants without all that fertilizer? You will need to grow alot more nitrogen-fixing plants like clovers and soybeans as well as letting fields lay fallow to recover. Think food is expensive or getting expensive now?
ah…. i don’t know why i always read this when i know it will just make me sad… well time to go cry
Want some "lost faith in humanity" with your tears? Cause i'm willing to share :')
Load More Replies...Don't know about you guys, but none of these made me feel like "cracking up" at least not with laughter...
About 12 years ago, I owned a plastics recycling company. At that time, a scientist in Japan developed a machine that would turn plastics back into oil for about $10 dollars a barrel. I was excited to learn more, so I started investigating the process. There were already a couple of states using it and I thought it would be a solution to many of our problems. A small town in Canada had purchased one and was using it to heat all the homes in town. The outgassing could be used to heat a building or run equipment so there was really no impact on using new power. Then I got to the reality point of the issue. The oil companies would not buy the oil and their excuse was, it was too pure, and they had no way to recycle it. So we can turn plastic back into oil, no matter what plastic it is, we just can't get past the oil company gate keepers who would rather pump oil out of the ground than use oil we already extracted. It takes about 4,000 lbs of plastic, to make a barrel of oil.
I just got really into it with my HOA because at a meeting my wife and another owner asked them to stop using Round Up and they were getting SNARKY. And I was like, ugh, I'm going to have to talk. They weren't caring about the chemical aspect at all and were talking about getting them to use something else, but they are killing so many plants so far out from the foundations I pulled in the fact that it's messing up the drainage between the condos after years of excessive use (using it on bigger areas than necessary) causing decades of erosion of soil around foundations and that if I ever had a foundation issue that was remotely the result of water sitting against my slab they were going to pay for it. The dirt eroding away from the slabs have created low spots against them and little levies preventing water from getting to the drains and they have done nothing to fix it. I have learned that I have to make it about money to be listened to. Sad but true.
