If you are a fan of art that is forward, sexually charged, and rather controversial, this might be your lucky day.

Artist Waldemar von Kazak is not afraid of drawing explicit illustrations that serve as a social commentary on today's world. The artist usually mixes fantastic sci-fi pin-up art creating distinct drawings characterized by dark undertones.

For this post, we've selected some images from his gallery that lean towards the safer side, but if you would like to see the full spectrum, feel free to check out his social media accounts for more.

Bored Panda reached out to Waldemar, who kindly told us more about the inspiration behind his art.

“Human civilization, I am referring specifically to Western civilization, is commendable in its continual search for new approaches regarding gender and social categories. Some steps appear quite bold, especially from the perspective of conservatives. These points of tension provide ample material for artistic interpretation. However, I do not consider social satire to be my specialization.

I wouldn’t call it inspiration, although social life is undeniably interesting. I simply have a spontaneous reaction to the news on social media and express it through drawing. Unfortunately, I find myself creating a lot of commercial art, leaving me with little time to illustrate these amusing collisions for myself,” commented Waldemar.

The only time I ever did anything mean to an animal was years ago, when I came upon my cat unraveling a lace project I was knitting. I roared at her, pounced and threw her off the bed. No excuse for what I did. She was ok, forgave me. But she stayed out of my knitting after that.

Sometimes at special art exhibits in my city, I'll look up the painting so I can learn more about it, the artist, or order a print of it. Sometimes I take a picture of a painting and post it to encourage other people to go check it out, sometimes I take pictures of my son looking at the art to put in his scrapbook, or just to have later so we can reminisce about our trip to the museum. Sometimes I'm checking my phone because I have a heart monitor and an app on my phone that tracks it because I have a chronic health condition, there's lots of reasons people might have their phone out, it doesn't affect you in any negative way, so why be bothered by it?

We wanted to know more about Waldemar’s career shift from a designer to focusing on drawing and illustration. He tried to recall what prompted him to do so: “My transition from design to illustration happened so long ago that I no longer remember what triggered the change. Perhaps I simply grew tired of manipulating nodes in Illustrator.”

Many of Waldemar’s artworks delve into controversial topics such as relationships and societal norms. We asked the artist to share what message or emotion he hopes viewers to take away from these pieces.

Waldemar replied: “I believe much of the public reaction can be described as irritation. Some are bothered by short skirts, while others are irritated by long beards. Some are willing to slit throats for their imaginary gods, while others are outraged that most still eat meat. If all cultures become equally tolerant, paradise will come. For now, however, we, as expected of primates, loudly shout and brandish clubs. And unfortunately, some of them are nuclear.”

Not much on this one because of Trump's campaign.....yelling anything that disagrees with him as fake news even if it is factually true. But I understand there are articles out there with agendas, planting info true or not (often not) for their own purposes. Frustrating that journalism has long lost its respectablitiy. NPR has self-respect left and some independent news sources. It promotes thoughts and discussions...I give in...had my like.

Some of Waldemar’s pieces contain explicit or NSFW content. The artist shared his point of view regarding balancing between artistic expression and potentially controversial or sensitive subject matter.

“I do not believe I have any explicit content. Furthermore, overt pornography irritates me. If someone finds something I draw objectionable, they can simply choose not to view my work. It’s not difficult. Of course, the politics of social media and all these shadow bans for nudity seem absurd and hypocritical to me, and artists suffer the most from them.”

Launched in April 1961, Vostok 1 carried Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space. Two years later, in June 1963, Vostok 6 carried Valentina Tereshkova, the first woman in space. These kids look like the Russian counterparts of all the American kids that went to space (or sent their pets up!) in their backyards back when.

real question : was there a black population in Russia in the 60s/70s? I wonder because of the dark legs of the woman in the upper right (tights?)

… yes? I’m answering respectfully because you asked respectfully, but just so you know, you have to careful or you could easily get people angry at you. I don’t want you to have a bunch of people mad at you or anything, so I’m just going to answer, that yes, people with darker skin live pretty much everywhere now, and lived pretty much everywhere in the 60s/70s. Certain countries or cultures definitely have more or less of various racial populations, because of different cultural histories, and in the far, far, past, there were areas like Africa with only a darker colored population, and areas like Norway etc. with only lighter colored populations, because that’s how the world works, but in 1960’s Russia, the population was not limited to only “white” people.

What made you think so? People (woman and little boy) in the background? If you squint a bit you can see a pair of glowing cat eyes in the hole. Those two are about to offer some food to that stray cat. Other than this, judging by the clothes of characters they are more or less of the same background. Toys are probably made from cardboard and Papier-mâché. There was no such luxury as bright plastic toys back then.

Look at the picture she's looking at. It appears to be a picture of a lady in her underwear with the number 265 above it. Not sure about the number or what that means but Ennui in French is boredom... Think it's forced conversion the mermaids being locked up (the dam and guards) with no way to escape then the profit casually walks over to force them to convert to a religion effectively making more spiritual slaves (your God is a part of your culture, religion and region so when you accept another picture of a deity you are putting THEIR culture and religion above your own effectively making slaves)
