Ella Karlton, artist, graphic designer, writer, and self proclaimed awkward teenager doesn’t live near her dad, and doesn’t get to talk with him often, as both of their schedules are often packed. But today, during a rare period of free time, she texted him and managed to start the battle of the century.

It all started with a simple suggestion from Ella that her dad should do an impromptu concert during a slow hour at work

But then it escalated into a playful argument and Ella couldn’t resist giving a challenge

She immediately whipped out a more recent classic, the opening song from Frozen

Her dad refused to return the blow, saying he needed to brush up on his Disney skills. Ella promptly broke out in a jazzy tune

And ended strong with a sweet “Love you” with the promise to talk later that week
