Dad And Son Rescued 30 Dogs Left Behind During The Flood

Even though the citizens in Brazoria, Texas were warned about the flood, many family dogs were abandoned in the midst of the chaos. However, the dad and younger brother of a Redittor named DUSTYHAM took the risk to save them. Equipped with a motorboat, the animal-loving duo rescued about 30 stranded dogs, including a bird and a cat.

“This was forecasted a week or so in advance, some situations I can understand,” wrote DUSTYHAM. “Not this one.” Neither can we, however, it’s also possible that the owners were away from home and not able to come back for their pooches. Whatever the reason, the poor pups were brought to safety. “They all went to temporary shelter set up by the local humane society,” DUSTYHAM explained. The dogs will be cared for until their owners come to pick them up or they’re adopted. If you want to help the shelter look after these dogs, please consider making a donation here.

I have three cats had the same thing happened to me, they would have come with, this includes if I had a dog, or any animal. They were warned, no reason not to take their pet too. A pet is also a family member, just because it has fur, fangs and claws doesn't make it any less important than a human.

Respect, but most of all this man has given his son the best lesson any human can learn. That of love and compassion. True earth angels. THANK YOU.

Why would anyone leave their dog behind. Surely they're part of the family. If they aren't then don't have them. Ugh.

Sorry but as dog and cat owners, nothing would stop us - except severe injury or death, from getting back to our pets and we simply would not leave without them. These two are true heroes.

great people do these things...only jerks leave them and run. I would never leave my animals in something like this especially when everyone was warned in advance...its called preparedness. These people would never be able to save themselves in a real disaster.

some people just don't deserve to have a companion, i hope these animals are adopted and not returned to the irresponsible people.
