A few months ago I started photoshopping images of my Dachshund, Vivian in her “true size.” She has a larger than life personality and I wanted to capture it in a picture.
I’ve known Vivian since she was a newborn puppy. My sister has a dog named Gogo, and she had a litter of puppies—Gogo, not my sister. The night they were born, my mom stayed up delivering the puppies. My dad likes to point out that he helped and was “the assistant midwife.” I rushed over to their home the next day and instantly fell in love with Vivian.
Since then, we’ve moved all over the US together. We’ve lived in four states, five cities, and 10 different apartments or houses. We’ve settled in Brooklyn and love it here. Vivian thinks she is just as big as the city we live in, which has inspired the children’s book we’re working on, “Vivian the Dog Moves to Brooklyn.”

Share on FacebookThis is beautiful. Well done. I think that is how big most dachshunds think they are.
Small dogs have a large complex because parents pick them up. They see themselves over other dogs giving them the notion they are bigger.
A friend Sent this to me and I really laughed out loud, because I also had a black dachshound lady "Mona" who was exactly the Same. ????????????
Perfect pic for a weenie dog I have 3 and they do think they r larger than life!!!
Amazing work with your doxie. Love it. I am thinking that mine thought was as big as your's.
She is beautiful ! Looked like my Chutney when she was a young girl. We have had ten amazing years together. Like Vivian she lives to eat . That has never changed . She is obsessed with food and the worst thing anyone could do is over feed a doxie. You just can't , period, no matter how guilty they may make us feel ! One pound over their preferred weight is 10 0/0 of their body weight and if they put it on it's really hard to get it off. We look forward to your book, which I can already tell will be amazing. God bless you and sweet Vivian.
i'm also planning on writing a book with the conversations between my dog and me, i have more than 120 of them, already in my laptop :D oh, and he thinks he's really small (he's a white shepherd) and tries to sit in my lap all the time :D 14902931_1...f60761.jpg
my dog: "my human, you two eat" me: "yes, sweetheart, and you are not allowed at the table at this time, you know that" my dog: "i go my place" me: "good boy" my dog: "i good boy" my dog: "i look you. you eat" me: "yes, we're eating" my dog: "i lick nose. i lick a lot" my dog: "you eat. i good boy" me: "mmmmm ... and? what do you want?" my dog: "i nothing. i look you, you eat. i good boy. i no beg food" me: "yeah, sure" my dog: "i good boy" *10 seconds later* my dog: "my human, i here, i good" my dog: "i good boy" my dog: "i no beg food" my dog: "I GOOD BOY! MY HUMAN! Load More Replies...i know the breed. they are adorable, but sometimes need a strong hand. otherwise they make a fool out of you. which is not the end of the world....
My dog weighs about 8 kg and he also thinks that he is 7 f tall! I even had to run after him once because he wanted to chase after a.....PITBULL! Darn dog.
These pics awesome! They remind me of my Dachshund Joy and my niece Maya. Vivian is their sister from another mother. They are bigger than life. Looking forward to get your, sorry, Vivian's book.
