Scottish Man Decides To Cycle Across The Globe Solo, But Finds A Stray Cat Who Accompanies Him (30 Pics)
Sometimes, without you even expecting, your life can change. Completely. And sometimes, the reason behind it doesn't necessarily have to be a groundbreaking one. Dean Nicholson from Scotland experienced it firsthand. Back in September 2018, Dean decided to hop on his bike and cycle across the globe. Solo. The 31-year-old man was tired of his nine-to-five job and was ready for a new adventure. The road trip was going great—he travelled a few different countries and was sharing his adventures online. But little did he know, his plans were about to change.
"So just as I was coming up to the Montenegro border, I heard this little gem meowing her heart out chasing me trying to get my attention. We were about 12 miles from the nearest town so it was obvious someone had dumped her," Dean wrote in his Instagram post. "A quick re-shuffle of my bike equipment, she is now sitting happy up front leading the journey! She needs a name so feel free to fire suggestions, guys." Soon, the cat was named Nala. Dean decided to bring Nala to a vet, where he found that this cutie didn't have a microchip. After that, he finally decided to take her and continue his trip.
Fast forward to now, Dean and Nala are iconic travel buddies with over 860k followers on Instagram. With that being said, Bored Panda invites you to look through some of the best pics capturing the rescue cat Nala enjoying her adventures around the world.

"I heard a wee cat miaowing from behind me. She was chasing me up the hill. So I stopped and pulled over and she just wouldn't leave my side. I put her on the front of my bike and got her comfy to take her into the next town. I went to find out if she was microchipped," Dean told BBC News. "But she wasn't and she climbed up on my shoulder and fell asleep and I just thought that was it, she was coming with me on this tour."

"She has taught me just to slow down and enjoy life a lot more. Having her on the bike her needs come first and it slowed the tour down and now we stop and play a lot. If there's woods we stop and play and she loves running on the beach," the traveler told BBC News.
