An artist from South Carolina, Matt Wilson has an old undying hobby of creating spectacular sculptures crafted meticulously out of old cutlery. His passion for metallic sculpture began in 2006 when he worked as a director of the Center des Beaux-Arts in Greenville.
Up to this day, Wilson continues sculpting his creations out of recovered parts such as knives, forks, or cuillères. He bends metal to his will bringing various types of animals to life, and we can't get enough of his work.

Great work! It is rare to see such technical skill combined with a refined aesthetic sense. A rare piece of art.
Ok, these are better than I have expected. (I have seen way too much mediocre cutlery/metal bits art) Lots of effort and creativity!
He has even managed to put both the intelligence and the craftiness of these birds into this portrait. Amazing.
Yeah, it's a nice combination and not everything needs to be metal
Load More Replies...It could have been a plain giraffe... but like this - it's genius, plus I love the crystal.
"Hummers" are definitely not the same thing as Hummingbirds.
Load More Replies...He has Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/airtightartwork
Load More Replies..."Environment/background" is also metal! We rarely see composition like this.
My thanks to the author for sharing these gems. I have been through them all now and they are all products of an amazingly talented mind as well as all being beautiful beyond compare. The ingenuity it takes to see a certain spoon or a pile of tableware and see something this beautiful in your mind to make with them and the talent and determination it takes to actually bring the project to fruition are all amazing. But the finished products, each one a singular, one of a kind treasure, these treasures are nothing short of phenomenal! I don't leave many comments on much of anything but my keyboard refused to be silent. My top 3 of these treasures are this, of course then the deer/elk and finally the minimalist bird. Thank you to Matt Wilson for helping to make the world a more beautiful place. 💛
I love art disguised as practical things. One of my weak points when spending money.
With the way the hand is positioned, it almost looks as if he is "GIVING THE BIRD"
I consider myself creative until I look at things like this and realize I don't know what creative is.
wow,... all of it are so cool. i bet there's many people who would buy it too
I'm amazed by the perspective the artist has. Michael Bay could easily think of making an animation film or something from these. The metal spring around the birds feet in No. 22 is quite realistic. I raise my hat to you dear sir.
Doesn't this extraordinary collection make you feel like your cutlery will abandon your kitchen to migrate to South Carolina for a more... inspirational kind of life? I can't stop staring at all these! WOW!
