Lonecat is a cat that lives alone. He enjoys what he has and doesn't care about tomorrow or things like making a living. He cares to enjoy the here and now. As a child.

Missing that old feeling of being in awe of everything and the good imagination that took me to heights when I was a little boy, I created Lonecat, his friends, and a new world full of places and creatures I dreamed of in childhood.

I hope you enjoy it and somehow feel that old childish feeling shake inside you.

Let's share this feeling...

P.S. I have already created some Bored Panda posts in the past, featuring additional Lonecat illustrations, so be sure to check them out!

Lonecat is a tribute to my childhood, a fond nod to the days when I let my imagination guide me through fantastic worlds inspired by the simple nature around me and the cartoons I watched at the time. This is why Lonecat's world is inhabited by eccentric and amusing characters, including animals, people, and undefined creatures, all contributing to the desire for a diverse world where everyone is unique and even the peculiarities are cherished in a rich and enjoyable manner.

Yesterday I found this strange guy around the city's clock.  He has a shop of masks and travels the world looking for the rarest items in his shop. He was looking for a mask that was stolen from him by an imp in the woods.  I tried a mask but I could not be once I had no money. He got a bit creepy when I said this. Creep guy.

Did anyone else add all sorts of things to the game like "5 seconds on the ground is only a third degree burn" and "Lava boots free from the store with tax not included!" No? Just me?

The color palette of Lonecat primarily features yellow, white, and dark brown. Yellow, being the most cheerful color, symbolizes the explosion of energy we experience in childhood. Brown and white complement each other, providing a harmonious contrast to the composition. Lonecat himself is always depicted in yellow, representing his world. However, each character in his universe possesses their own distinctive color. When Lonecat is portrayed alone, his characteristic yellow is prominent. But whenever another character joins the scene, the illustration adopts the colors associated with that character, infusing new hues into the world of the solitary cat. This illustrates how each individual contributes a new color to our world.

Potion Shop

Potion Shop

Today I found this strange shop in my village. I never notice it here.
It's a potion house. There are kinds of potions for everything you need. I bought one to help me to get more fish and other that I won't tell because it's a secret.  And you? What kind of potion do you need?

This reminds me of David Byrne's True Stories. There is a voodoo practitioner who comes across as a complete charlatan who is just taking people's money until you see him, near the end of the movie, praying his heart out and burning incense. It made me cry for some reason.

You are so creative! Love the accompanying captions. They give more dimension to the art. And the color schemes remind me of 60s and 70s picture books.

Lonecat is essentially divided into two realms: the fantastical and the everyday. The fantastical part allows me to let my mind soar. I usually grab my notebook and begin to scribble, and it's from this spontaneous creativity that many amusing and unusual creatures and landscapes emerge. It's not something I meticulously plan; it simply takes shape as I put pen to paper. Ideas from everyday life, on the other hand, are inspired by my daily experiences as well as observations of others. I keep my notebook within reach, jotting down ideas as they come to me, though regrettably, some end up slipping away.

I made a cardboard robot costume. It was 100% my favorite costume from my childhood. I usually had a store-bought one.

The very first illustration I created of Lonecat holds a special place in my heart because it marks the beginning of this journey. I was with my girlfriend, and she challenged me to create a quick drawing, providing me with three words: 'cat,' 'umbrella,' and 'pillow.' Without hesitation, I sketched a whimsical cat with an umbrella, carrying a pillow. At that moment, the entire concept of Lonecat came together, and I began to draw him in various situations. That's how Lonecat was born.

The Ancient Ruins Of Gatuna

The Ancient Ruins Of Gatuna

This morning I took a walk in the woods to catch some bugs.  I was so far down in the woods that I got lost.  And then I found this mystery place. Looks like the ruins of an old temple. I wanted to explore it but it is haunted. So I got away from there. Should I come back?

Lonecat embodies a philosophy of living a light and free lifestyle, where we can express our true selves and find joy in our own company. Whether we are surrounded by friends and family or alone, we are always happy. Like a cat, we are independent, curious, and adventurous.

On a totally unrelated note, I bought my kitty a cat bed and he sleeps in the box it came in. This owner lost a battle with his cat today.

The wood elf reminds me of either the Wood Man from the NetFlix show Hilda or a Deku Scrub (the friendly ones, not the angry ones, that shoot Deku nuts at you) from Legend of Zelda

Where I come from (Malaysia), they brew coffee by straining it with a sock (clean, of course). Traditional style of coffee-brewing.

I love the various video game references in this one. I see the Deku Mask, a piranha plant, other stuff that I think is from a video game but ones I am not familiar with. Very neat!

Yes. Legend of Zelda. Majora's Mask in particular. Piranha plant is from Super Mario. There is also bob-omb looking creature on the top shelf.

Ask To Rock Guru

Ask To Rock Guru

I decided to help Mr. cricket to find his baby. He had the idea to go ask the rock sage in the Roxa valley. Rock Sage is a millenary being who knows everything.  But he seems to speak only in enigmas and I'm not very good at it.  "Turn around now, and you will see what you are looking for!" that was what he said, What it could mean? Can you help us?
