Makes me think of Norse mythology! The Norse relied on goats for wool, meat, milk, transportation and landscaping among other things so goats played a very special role in their mythology in particular I remember a story about Thor he. Had two goats that pulled his chariot and they always came back to life after they were killed so he would kill and eat them for food every day.
