Crystals, the sung holy grail of positivity, good vibes, and cleansed energy have been mesmerizing humans since the dawn of time. But this time, people are freaking out for a different reason.

You see, someone on Twitter posted a pic of just what an uncanny resemblance their crystal has to a chicken tender. In the humble pic, the crystal looked so mouth-watering you would think it came out of a KFC bucket. It soon turned out, this wasn’t the only piece that looked like it belonged in the fridge.

Twitter users got on the bandwagon posting their gemstone versions of cheesecake, potato, fruit, and filet mignon in what happened to be an appetizing collection of non-edible goodness. Beware, these are no good for your stomach chakras.

Bored Panda reached out to Amelia Rude, a 20-year-old stone jewelry designer at Unbeadable Energies, who posted the now-viral pic of her finger lickin’ crystal which surely passed as a fried chicken tender.

Amelia told us she bought the piece, which was originally mined in China, from a friend. “I specifically bought the crystal because of its striking resemblance to a chicken tender, and I was shocked to see how much everyone else loved it.”

When I took mineralogy, we had to learn the chemical compounds of the different minerals. I gave Tourmaline the nickname "Tormenting Tourmaline" because of the long string of chemical compounds: (Ca,K,Na, (variant))(Al,Fe,Li,Mg,Mn)3(Al,Cr, Fe,V)6 (BO3)3 (Si,Al,B)6O18(OH,F)4 Yes, we had to memorize that monster.

“A fried chicken crystal is a funny meme,” she stated, “but it’s also a reminder of how close we really are to nature!” And it turns out, there are lots of crystals which are strikingly similar to foods.

“Some of my favorite are rhodochrosite (ham), watermelon tourmaline (Jolly Ranchers), banded calcite (pork), and azurite (blueberries),” Amelia noted.

The most incredible thing about these brightly colored crystals is “realizing that they came from the same earth that you and I did,” the crystal collector with 700 unique pieces in her archive concluded.

As bizarre as it sounds, crystals that look just like bites of food are nothing surprising. In fact, there’s even a whole project titled “Rock Food Table” in Texas, which does exactly what it says.

Created in 1983, the “Rock Food Table” features a fine-dining exhibit made entirely from stones. “There was a cake, sweet roll, piece of pie, and several other items of rock that looked like food,” says a statement on the web page of East Texas Gem & Mineral Society, to which the table now belongs.

According to East Texas Gem & Mineral Society, the pieces look so lifelike that “people try to throw away some of the items thinking that they were left on the table by accident.”

There’s even one young man who said that he “put an item in his mouth thinking it was edible.” Luckily, “he did not bite down hard and did not damage his teeth.” Plus, there are four “Do Not Touch” signs, but people think it warns against touching the food.

I mean, it seems like we’ve found a new source for Instagram food pics which are way longer lasting, much more precious, and slightly dangerous.

the white stones may be white marble. The 'slab of ham' might be rhodochrosite?
