Woman Crochets Full Body Halloween Costumes For Her Kids (11 Pics)
Sometimes, when kids ring my doorbell trick-or-treating, I pretend I'm not home. Yes, yes, I know, I'm a horrible person. However, if it were Stephanie Pokorny's sons, I'd definitely open my door and spoil them with candy. You see, Stephanie's family is "absolutely obsessed" with Halloween, and she creates DIY costumes for them that you won't see anywhere else. Seeing those creative costumes in person would be an experience on its own.
"Each year, I freehand crochet full-body Halloween costumes with no actual crochet patterns for my children," she wrote on Bored Panda. "Sometimes these unique costumes are from classic '80s movies, other times from whatever movie or toy is popular at the time."

"Once they choose their Halloween costume ideas, I begin on bringing them to life. They love to follow along with my progress, and each day they ask, 'Is it done yet?'"
Their family lives in a cold climate, so the warmth from the crochet is always a plus as they go around the neighborhood. "Each of the cool costumes for the kids takes between 25-40 hours, and I tend to work on them over the course of about two weeks. I have been crocheting since I was 16. I was taught by my Grandma, and these creative costumes are my passion."

Hundreds? She's nuts if the sells them for hundreds. These take serious time and creativity. I can't imagine how many hours go into them but I can't see them selling for less than 4 figures. If they were just $1,000 each, to earn $60k/yr she'd need to make 5 per month. Can you imagine producing more than one per week, every week all year long? That's an insane amount of work.

Yes! It was always disappointing as a kid when most of October would go by and it was still warm, still pretty warm, BAM last few days of October and it's cold and snowing and we had to go out with coats over our costumes. With this, you can bundle up and THEN put the costume on! No one can see what's under the costume and the kid is warm & still showing off the amazing outfit. I love it.

It's so weird to see these scary faces, and then the face is removed and BAM! there's a grinning 8 year old sweetly saying, "Trick or Treat!" It would make me do a double take...

All of these are phenomenal and pay amazing attention to detail. I’m so impressed. But I’m confused by the Jason mask. That one doesn’t seem to fit the quality of the rest...but I can’t even hold crochet needles the right way, yet form a straight line. So, bravo. I bet her kids are the talk of the town.

Agreed. It's not the same, and the pizza one is a bit blah but the other ones are literally beyond belief. I didn't know that level of "realism" was possible with crocheting.

Lady, I crochet freehand doilies but I have never attempted anything this detailed. Take my word for it, this woman is extremely talented! This takes years of practice and hard work and if your family doesn't honor you in some way, they should be ashamed of themselves! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful creations.

These are absolutely phenomenal! Totally blown away! One of my aunties made my Halloween costume every year when I was a kid - first one was Boy George (I was obsessed with him at the time, I was only 3 or 4 lol), sunflower, apple core, pint of Guinness, Smarties tube. They were amazing but they can't compare to the time, work and effort that has went into these! Do you think she would be up for adopting a 39 year old??

Please Pandas! Help shout down the swarm of trolls that are attacking the Jason Momoa piece. I love these. The only full-body costume I've ever seen were "Body Suits" in solid colors, complete with crazy hairdos, nipples, buttocks and genitals.
