Normalynn tells us what the main goal of her crochet is: "My main purpose through my crochet work is to share joy, even if my art attracts someone who can’t crochet, but simply makes them wonder and smile. I’m excited to offer patterns to help an individual who can crochet joyfully participate in this process."

Here's how the artist got into crocheting: "While walking through a department store, I was mesmerized when saw a woman’s top with a flower made of yarn stitched to it. I wanted to purchase the garment in a heartbeat, but it was beyond my budget. Instead, I went to our local yarn store and described what I saw and the staff member informed me that the flower was made from crochet. I learned to crochet that same day! That was 20 years ago and I have designed my own flower since along with a smorgasbord of fiber food. I created my Pasta Party pieces in 2013. It is one of my most popular patterns. I will crochet these pieces until the demand stops."

"The most challenging aspect when creating these art pieces is time. My mind operates exponentially quicker than my hands. And often while I am crocheting a piece, my mind is already visualizing the 3D configuration of the next piece. Having my notebook and pen within arm’s reach is needed for me to quickly write down the evolving pattern."

Normalynn shares what she enjoys creating most: "I thoroughly enjoy making cakes! I have a fond appreciation for beautiful desserts. By crocheting aesthetically pleasing foods, I can repeatedly enjoy them without the guilt and calories!"

Normalynn tells us more about herself and her life: "I’ve been an educator for 16 years with the last three years as a preschool teacher. I am currently a stay-at-home mom homeschooling my preschool daughter. I have traveled around the world and have a keen interest in unified physics, biomimicry, natural healthcare, and education. I’d be ecstatic to someday converge my love for crochet with a science-oriented interest of mine to help humanity in another particular way."
