35 Parents Share How Their Kids Casually Dropped Some Chilling Sentences That They Can’t Forget
The truth is out there. And I personally plan to get to the bottom of things with all of you Pandas at my side, no matter how spooky and supernatural everything might turn out to be. Twitter users have been sharing the eerie and downright creepy things that their kids have said after psychic medium and empath Melisa Gillett started up a viral thread, sharing what her grandson told her. That’s right, we’re about to enter into the creepy realm of real-life ghost stories.
There are literally chills running up and down my spine as I was reading through these paranormal posts about kids possibly having the 6th sense and I really hope that you’ll feel the same way. Got your flashlight, teddybear, and safety blanket? Got your chocolate to ward off any Dementors that might ambush us on the way down? Good, let’s delve deep into the Bored Panda Files… [Cue thunder, lightning, and distorted music box melody.]
To learn more about spirituality and the big questions in life, Bored Panda reached out to Jane Kuepfer, the Schlegel Specialist in Spirituality and Aging at the Conrad Grebel University College. "Spirituality is simply a reminder that there is more to life than we perceive at first glance. It is about our connectedness—to our selves, others, nature, the transcendent. Religion can be a way to access and express the spiritual dimension of life, but all of us have the capacity to perceive life as spiritual, regardless of religious identity." Read on for Kuepfer's other insights.

According to spirituality and aging expert Kuepfer, people like to believe that we can control life by putting it in boxes for our own understanding. "Science has become the religion of our age—it is what we have learned to trust to explain life. But much of the wonder of our experience is beyond explanation. Spirituality allows for mystery, and for life/’God?’ to be bigger than we can get our human minds around," she said.
Kuepfer also shared her belief that, as time progresses, our spirituality may actually increase rather than decrease. "In my opinion, if humanity continues to flourish, we will be growing in the direction of greater openness to spirituality, to wonder, to possibilities beyond what we can contain and control. Spirituality invites us to seek and discover meaning and purpose in life, so I hope we won’t deprive ourselves of it any time soon.
Melisa’s thread had over 185.8k likes on Twitter, as well as nearly 16k retweets at the time of writing. Considering how much attention her post got, it’s easy to say that a lot of parents have been in situations where their kids scare them with what they had to say.
As odd as it may sound, there have been numerous attempts to scientifically prove the presence of the paranormal. For example, books like ‘Children Who Have Lived Before: Reincarnation Today’ have tried to systemically approach and verify ideas about life after death by analyzing children’s stories.
“Eminent scientists explain how many of these children's stories have been followed up to verify whether their statements have any foundation in fact. Incredibly, when subjected to scientific investigation, children's memories about their past lives can invariably be confirmed in every detail,” the book’s blurb explains. Naturally, everyone’s a bit of a skeptic. But once you widen your gaze, you start coming across things that can’t be explained by conventional logic alone.
As Live Science points out, getting solid evidence (pun very much intended) about the existence of ghosts and spirits is incredibly difficult and there are plenty of contradictory accounts between people.
Not to mention that far from every story is true: there are plenty of charlatans out there, preying on people’s grief, as well as ‘ghost hunters’ looking to make a quick buck. On the flip side, there are genuine psychics, spirit mediums, and exorcists, too, who aim to help people (even if they sometimes fail). Completely discounting their experiences would be unfair, just as accepting them word-for-word would be, too.
There are lots of small indications around us that the paranormal might be, well, normal. I’ll let you in on a little secret, dear Pandas, if you promise not to tell anyone else. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve had prophetic dreams about small snippets from everyday life that later turn out to be true, just like most of my family members. And while you could try to explain déjà vu away by saying that it’s someone’s brain short-circuiting, being the nosy scientist that I am, I’ve tested my dreams, again and again, to make sure I’m not making things up.
My conclusion? Everything checks out and I’m still waiting for my letter to go study at Hogwarts. So there’s not a shadow of doubt in my mind that there’s something deeper in life that science hasn’t been able to catch up to yet. Either that or there’s something weird going on with the Weave of Time! But whether or not you believe me is completely up to you. However, I know that some of you Pandas might be in the same boat as I am! So be sure to share your own paranormal stories in the comment section below.
Scientifically, déjà vu has been associated with temporal lobe epilepsy and neurological anomalies related to electrical discharge in the brain, thus creating a strong sensation that an event has happened before. But as some of us know from firsthand experience, this doesn’t account for the fact that some of us have quite literally dreamt the scenes days, weeks, and sometimes months in advance.
Scientists have also tried to link déjà vu to mental disorders like schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder, and anxiety, but found no correlation. However, there is a possible genetic link! Specifically, the LGII gene on chromosome 10 is being studied because certain forms of the gene are associated with a mild form of epilepsy.
Meanwhile, Scientific American writes how one study found that after scanning the brains of 21 participants as they experienced a lab-induced sense of déjà vu, the areas of the brain involving decision-making (rather than memory) were triggered. This suggests that déjà vu might be our mind’s way of resolving conflicts.
“They interpret this result to mean that déjà vu could instead be a result of our brains conducting some form of conflict resolution. In other words, our brain checks through our memories like a rolodex looking for any conflict between what we think we’ve experienced versus what actually happened to us.”
In the future, I’m sure that scientists will discover a lot of hidden truths about the world that we felt were real but could never prove with hard evidence. But what do you think, dear Readers? Which of these spooky stories did you enjoy reading the most? Do you have any similar tales to tell? Do you think it’s time we gave Sam and Dean Winchester from ‘Supernatural’ a call?
Although I think most of these can be explained by children being very attentive to details, having much imagination, and on top of that mere coincidences, I think in the very moments this must have been freakishly creepy.
I don't understand the negative comments of disbelief or cynicism. Who cares if they are true or not? Aren't the stories entertaining either way? That's why we are all here anyway.
Some people are in denial but it doesn't make stories like this any less true.

I sometimes still call her phone just so i can hear her voice in her voicemail. I also inherited her car. At night, i can sometimes hear her voice singing to me at night, and I can smell her. I use her perfume but even when I'm not wearing her perfume, I can still smell her. Her name is Penny and whenever something important, sad, or hurtful happens in our life we will find pennies near us or spots we end up in.
My son would tell us about "when I was alive before" until he was about three. We just listened, uncertain what else to do.
Please, tell us about some of the things he says, but if you don't want to, I understand.

Years n years ago, when my siblings and I were kids all living in one house still, one of my brothers came out from his room in the morning and said he had the weirdest dream his friend was floating in our house and said he came to say goodbye. Later that day we got a call from his friends family that said friend had died during the night in a vehicle. I'll never ever forget that. One of my brothers took his life just over 10 years ago now....the night it was happening i had this horrible feeling inside my chest that something was terribly wrong, something bad was happening and i told my husband about the feeling how i couldn't shake it. The next morning I got the call from my brothers room mate he had found him (suicide). I don't believe in this stuff...but then s**t like this has happened to me and it makes me question everything yet i still remain skeptical
My oldest son (age 7 at the time) desperately wanted to learn to ride a 2-wheeled bike with no training wheels, but his coordination was a little slower than most kids at that age, so he was struggling. Still, every day, I went out with him and helped him practice - and every day, he fell off the bike. One day, after falling yet again, he stomped into the house and declared he was never riding again - he was just so frustrated that he didn't seem to have the coordination to balance and ride. The next morning, he got up and asked me to help him try to ride his bike again. I went out with him and grabbed the back of the bike, as usual, to steady him and walk behind him to hold the bike up - but this time, he said, "No, Mom - I can do it. I learned how in a dream last night." Believe it or not, he got on the bike and rode off down the sidewalk without wobbling or falling - he rode perfectly from that moment on. No idea what or who was in the dream that taught him how to do it.
had a bad miscarriage for a child whose due date would have been nov 11. every year since i would have what i called a 'blue' day on that date. flash forward several years & my grandson came to be at 3 mos due to mom passing. when he was about 4 and that day came around he told me that he was here now so i didn't have to have blue day. i had never used that term nor did i ever tell him that date.
When my parents were getting divorced I was about 15. It was troubling times. I remember a reoccurring dream of a soldier with a kaki uniform who would come in my bedroom and stand watch by my bed. The uniform was an odd design not like anything currently used. It had a tunic top with a sewn in belt made out of the same material. Jacket and pants all kaki green. He did not come again after we moved away. Years later I was at my Grandfather's house looking through photo albums. In there was his favorite brother who died when he was about 18-19 in WWll. He had the same uniform as in the dream.
That's the point of uniforms. Lots of people wear them. Nothing unique or weird about it.

I was mourning the death of my favorite grandma, at aged 17. Was lying in bed, under the quilt she made and my mom gave me. I just wanted to know she was ok now, and that I loved her.all of a sudden, the air changed and I felt her hand slowly smooth down my side and tuck my quilt in a bit. There was so much love I felt! I heard her say, she was ok and not to worry! Loved that woman!
I dreamed I went to my fiancé's apartment. She opened the door and took me to the living room where there was a Trinidadian man sitting on the sofa in his boxer shorts reading a newspaper. She introduced him as "Robbie, a friend of my brother." We turned to go into the kitchen. She asked if I was hungry and offered to make me a ham sandwich. Three days later, I went to my fiancé's apartment. She took me to the living room where there was a Trinidadian man sitting on the sofa in his boxer shorts reading a newspaper. I had never met nor heard of Robbie before that dream. I remembered his face, his clothes and his name from the dream. It made me start to question the nature of time,
So why was that guy doing in her apartment in his shorts?

One night the youngest did stay over because he could stay in the bed with me. He said he didn't like the room because of the ghosts. I asked him if he could see one now? Yes, he said. At the end of the bed. Ghosts are real you know? Yes my darling I know. What does he look like? Angry. So, I was the only one not sleeping that night.
I started seeing spirits at a young age and talked with them, I could also tell who was going to die soon and if somethingbad would happen. I am now 15 two years ago I begged my mom not to leave because she would get hurt. she was gone for 30 minutes before calling and saying that someone almost hit her and her truck about flipped.
My grandfather died long before I was born. Hardly anyone talked about him, till I was 16 or 17 ... I have no idea why. My mother once told me about a story that happened when I was 5 or 6 years old. My grandmother was angry because I didn't want to go to bed (she wasn't a nice person) ... she screamed at me. I then told her, that my grandpa was really mad ... and that he looked very angry at her. She froze and said I was talking nonsense. My mother later asked me who I meant by "grandpa". I described my grandfather to her in detail. I even knew a scar on his head ... and that wasn't in any photos. He died of a broken skull after falling off a ladder ... I didn't know that at the time. I don't even remember that "conversation" with my grandmother when I was 5 or 6 ... only that with my mother, years later.
Why are you all so surprised / scared? A spirit of a person is continuous, not confined to one life. It is just another chapter in a book. Up to about 3 years of age it is not uncommon to have flashbacks. Some people have those their entire life. I know roughly who I have been.
I agree but don't cliche it to a chapter in a book. Just say it's another part of ones life or something like that.

after my dad died, my 4 y.o. nephew was playing outside at my brother's house. He came in almost shouting about a scary man in the backyard. My brother ran out & looked all around on all sides.. they had a big house on a 6-acre lot with grass and trees on all sides... There was nobody there. My nephew described the man wearing a baggy green outfit and brim hat. He described exactly how dad looked when he was in the army back in ww2. I came out of a light sleep on the recliner seeing him looking in the sliding glass door. He looked lost and confused. Eventually, just about everybody in the family saw him.
This is weirdly sweet, actually. If these are to be believed (and I choose to believe them), then many of them are simply those who passed away still watching over their family. Honestly, sometimes I wish these were true for me, too.
I have two creepy stories I can't explain. When my oldest was a baby he was a terrible sleeper. One night around 11 or so I was already asleep, and my son was in his crib in his own room, my husband hadn't come to bed yet. I woke up heard my son crying on the baby monitor, but just as I was about to get up. I heard someone making soothing shushing noises and clearly whispering his name. He calmed down and I settled back into bed thinking my husband was handling things. A few minutes later the crying ramped up again and I called to my husband to just bring me the baby because clearly he wasn't going to go back to sleep without nursing. Crying continued, so I got up all annoyed and went into the baby's room. I immediately realized two things. Baby was all alone, and my husband was sound asleep snoring on the couch. My son spent the rest of the night in my room! A few years later the same child us now about 3, we are hanging out in the living room, he is watching cartoons. .
My daughter used to come out with all sorts up until she was about 5. I remember her telling me that when she was a different girl her brother was her brother but she had a different mum and dad and her mum was called Mackan. She told us her dad died in the cold one night going out to look for the best dog. She talked about having straw on the floor. A colleague looked up the name Mackan and it related to times when there would be straw on floors and evolved into the surname Mackenzie.... another time she told me she didn't like the sad man behind me who died in our kitchen. We renovated our house in 2007 well before she was born and where our kitchen is now was originally a downstairs bedroom where the previous owner sadly died. Im glad she's grown out of it....
I'm glad for you too. I'm glad mine stopped her floozie s**t from her past life... The dances she would do... The dress up outfits... She still does her eyebrows though...

my niece is my grandmother come back already. I was psychically connected to her openly until she turned about four years old. We are still connected, but she is not aware of it. Everybody in the family thinks I am kind of crazy for holding this belief. I am looking forward to her having her son who will be my dad come back. He has gone to be with her in the spirit world to get ready to come back as her son. Yes, I am very adept. I commonly have spontaneous past life regression readings when I get to know people. No, I am not a public psychic... family & friends only. Sad, but nobody I know believes in this stuff but me...
I mean i know a lot of people will think that what you wrote is fake but thats actually really cool.
Load More Replies...My grandpa died before I was born. I have a picture of him as a young soldier on my wall. When my daughter was three years old, she pointed to the picture and said “Hi, grandpa!” We had never talked about him before.
I understand why people don't believe this but I also think you should open your mind. We are all here to experience things beyond our understanding. And children have no prejudgement. They just see what they see and talk about it. They don't question it like adults do. I once was in a store and got chills and became very nauseous. At the time I didn't know why I felt that way. Then I saw a guy who I didn't notice before and knew there was something not good about him. When I was checking out I looked over at him. He was buying a knife, sharp and smooth one side and jagged on the other. I turned to my friend and said "he's a child molester and he's going to take it to the next level". I knew it was true like I know my own name. It still gives me chills thinking about it. This is not a ghost story but how if you're in touch with your intuition, you most definitely are going to experience things others will not. We all have this ability. It's just a matter of paying attention.
When I was ten years old, I had heard my grandfather laughing. He had a very peculiar laugh so there was no mistaking that it was him. So, I asked my mom why she didn't tell me that my grandpa was here. She looked at me and said he wasn't. I heard him laugh one more time and I told her that I just heard him laugh again. Just then, the phone rang and my grandmother called to say that my grandfather had just passed away. I had a close relationship with him and knew then, that it was his way of saying goodbye to me.
I really enjoyed reading all the accounts and surprisingly, I read at least 2 accounts which were exactly as mine! That told me I am not crazy or alone! These were accounts in which a family member came to say "goodbye" or to call out a name and this very thing happened to me. My grandmother (who I had been named after) had been living in Florida, with my sister after the death of her husband (my step-grandfather). I came home from work late at night, got ready for bed and laid down in bed. I was almost asleep when all of a sudden I clearly heard my grandmother loudly call out my name! She sounded as if she was yelling, distressed and in a hurry! Her voice swept over me, from one side of the room to the other. I knew my grandmother was in FL. Suddenly, our phone rang. It was my sister, crying, telling me our grandmother just passed. I said "I know"..it got silent until my sister asked "how did you know, you are the first one I called" I replied, "She just passed over me"
This is not 'creepy', it's perfectly normal. We are surrounded by those who have passed; most of us can't see or sense them.
There is more to life and death than what has been observed, and much that cannot be explained away. Children are the most open to that. But as they get older they lose that connection.

Tucker recounts Ryan's story, as well as the stories of other children who say they remember past lives, in his book Return to Life: Extraordinary Cases of Children Who Remember Past Lives.
here is a report about a baptist kid in Oklahoma who had a spontaneous past life regression... his background & family did not hold or teach any beliefs in past lives, a belief which is rejected in protestant baptist religion... he was an actor, dancer, entertainer, and successful talent agent in Hollywood for 30 years. He danced with Mae West. Take a look, but be careful, your head might explode when you catch what he is saying and what this all means: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/10-year-old-boy-says-784090#:~:text=Ryan%2C%20a%2010%2Dyear%2D,used%20to%20be%20somebody%20else.%22
Its really annoying how some people think they can use their tiny minds to "reason" these things away. Total human arrogance.
When i was 5 y.o., i watched tv with my parents. On screen was a man and he was peeing blood. I went to the toilet myself to pee and returned to my parents. I asked them "what does it mean when i pee blood?". They were very scared, because thought i peed blood. But i only asked the question because of the man in the tv
I'm gonna get downvoted so much, but i question that most of these are true. It' s easy to lie about this on twitter,

It's all fun and games until you're an adult. I've thought several times that I've seen spirits and possibly an angel. Assuming that that's what these things were when I was a child. My mom dismissed such stories and refused to entertain them. She was terrified because she too had seen and felt what I saw. Fast forward… Never saw anything as an adult. Until...One day my fiancé and I got into a disagreement and he left the apartment. I washing dishes with my headphones on and suddenly I felt him behind me. When I turned around, there was this dark mass or shadow figure...kind of solid but not really. It disappeared in front of me or through me. Idk but it was gone. All of a sudden my fiancé appeared out of the bedroom. He never left
I stood there frozen and truly understood what it meant for the hairs on the back of your neck to stand on end. I immediately had to sit down. I thought I was just a kid seeing s**t. But no, not that day. That s**t was real!

Hey folks, read this article and tell me if it makes you see these phenomena in a new light. It offers a very interesting scientific explanation: https://www.vice.com/en/article/7k9qag/how-to-escape-the-confines-of-time-and-space-according-to-the-cia
