French artist Cal is a vandal. Only their mischiefs aren't rude or destructive. Rather, smart, creative, and joyful. But most notably, inclusive. The Lyon-based street artist sprinkles their works in urban places, leaving them interacting with their surroundings.
Think painted fish "escaping" a drain pipe or a red and white traffic sign "becoming" Waldo.
Bored Panda has already published an article about Cal's work in 2019, but they've kept themselves rather busy, so it's only fair we release an update.

Fun fact, the reason owls can move their heads in almost a full 360 degrees is because their eyes are tubed shape to see and adapt to the night. They cannot move their eyes, and thus, they move their heads instead. (Beep boop, I am pretending to be a bot. For more info read my bio!)
"I would say my art is light-hearted," Cal told Bored Panda. "I play with what surrounds me. I love distracting things from their original purpose."
Naturally, in order to spot so many opportunities where others don't, one really needs to keep their eyes open. "I walk a lot, I see loads of things," Cal said. "I love observing, looking at details. I often notice that a specific stone, piece of pavement, tree, brick looks like something."
*hmmm. I see the bread crumbs on the ground but they're not touching them.* "Is there something wrong with these crumbs?" *why won't they answer me?"
lol. There is something wrong with these pigeons. They don't answer me. They never coo!
Fun fact, when birds poop, the only poop is the black bits. The white is actually their viscous and thick urine, as they do both at the same time! (Beep boop, I am pretending to be a bot. For more info read my bio!)
While I was reading this, I was drinking water and now my keyboard is all wet.
Sometimes Cal paints it straight away when they have time and the proper material, but sometimes they only make a note of it and come back after they prepare the drawings.
"I mainly play in my town, Lyon. It can be anywhere, in car parks, streets, parks, etc."
Fun fact, goldfish won at carnivals are actually meant to be food for larger fish, but since they are so cheap, carnivals buy them and present them as “real fish”. However, they will die in several days. (Beep boop, I am pretending to be a bot. For more info read my bio!)
I love this but something is fishy about the one that's trying to escape
Cal loves going back to their works to see if they are still there. And it's a surprise every time! "The artworks stay up from 5 minutes to several years depending on both the techniques and the discretion of the drawing."
The artist also loves trying out something new different all the time, so they never get tired of "vandalizing" the city. "This year, I really enjoyed making fake books out of bricks, giving them titles, etc. I offered 5 of them (leaving them in the street) and put the 5 other ones in my art gallery @atelierducanal."
It's currently 3rd, so you appear to have gotten your wish! :)

Fun fact, mice and rats actually hate the smell of cheese, and strong smelling cheese will drive them away from the traps, rather than lure them. (Beep boop, I am pretending to be a bot. For more info read my bio!)
Zoe you made me smile. Very funny your pun. Thank you!

Genius. Who ever did this is very talented. I bee-lieve that person is very smart
Not sure if this is vandalism, the leaves will just rot.
words can express how this and the other works make me feel. Bravo!!!
Smart. I wish someone in my neighboorhood did things like this
They are there to discourage people (men) from peeing in the corner, because it will splash against there legs.
I didn’t notice the face at first and thought his drawing was of a very unlucky chap 😂😂😂
My crazy ass thought that the rock was way too satisfied to squash someone's face
Load More Replies...took me a second to figure out that it was the part from railings
well, at least people will notice the bird and then the poop so they can watch out
Wonder how many times he accidentally touched the poo trying to draw this 🤔
None. In the interest of not getting arrested for vandalism/littering, etc., most of his works are temporary stickers or chalk. This one is a sticker.

No, they're pieces of paper in several pictures. So he used this bit to do a few different ideas, or... he did one at one point, the paper fell off/ was removed so he did a different idea in the same spot. Very few of these would be permanent. You can even see the edges of the paper curled up a bit away from the wall on the tank top and the socks.

"He sees you when you're sleeping, He knows when you're awake....."
If all graffiti looked like these, what a beautiful world we'd live in! Instead they make our cities look like absolute cr@p!
It's angry... wait it kinda looks embarrassed... now it looks sad...
And the stone on the left is seriously checking its belly-button out. Creep!
"Did you see those people on the bus. They didn't have masks!!!"
I think a leaf fell from a tree. That's why they are shocked and terrified
In case you can't see it, it's in the hole on the handle of the suitcase.
genius. creative genius. sees the world through different eyes. has the pen to bring that vision to life. thanks. #gratitude #gladitude
"The Lyon-based street artist sprinkles their works..." Rokas, the only thing I can't understand: why "their" but not "his"? O_o
It's this really strange thing Progressives do. It's using a plural to avoid using someone's gender.
