There are many resources available that teach house owners how to create tasteful, elegant, stylish, and trendy living spaces. However, they often forget the most important aspect: it has to feel good. A home must have a human touch, instill comfort and coziness, and make a person excited to return at the end of the day.
The Facebook group Creative Interiors & Exteriors Design Ideas is full of practical advice on home and garden design. The best part is that it’s coming from people actively living and further nurturing their spaces to make them the most inviting little corners of the earth. Scroll down to find their best posts, and don’t forget to upvote the ones that caught your eye the most!
While you’re at it, make sure to check out a conversation with Claire Douglas, DIY and home interiors blogger, and luxury designer Eddie Rider, who kindly agreed to share some tips on how to make our homes feel good.

I love 😍 this stained glass. Absolutely gorgeous 💕
Claire Douglas, DIY and home interiors blogger, tells Bored Panda that for your home to feel good, it has to be personalized to the owner’s taste and tailored to suit their lifestyle. “Getting the color palette right makes a huge difference, and the 60:30:10 rule is a great place to start.
To achieve a cohesive flow throughout your home, use the same palette of colors but in varying proportions using this ratio, and each space will feel unique yet connected to the others.”
She also suggests including layers of texture to add depth, interest, and a grounded feel to a space. Natural materials like wood, rattan, and seagrass are perfect for that.
For a home to be comfortable, she urges homeowners not to overlook lighting as well. “Layer your lighting with a mixture of ambient, task, and accent lights, as this will allow a space to be functional yet aesthetically pleasing and offer you the flexibility to relax and adapt in the space,” she explains.
Very cute. I would defo trip over the entryway in door frame at least once a day.
Luxury designer Eddie Rider seconds the importance of color, texture, and lighting in our homes. “I think that warm colors and natural materials make a place truly comfortable and inviting. This would mean not using highly polished cabinets, countertops, or floors. When possible, use more floor lamps and less overhead recess.”
The pot filler for the dogs water bowl was genius.
Something else Douglas believes is important in the creation of a feel-good space is embracing the idea of dopamine decor and filling the home with carefully curated items that bring joy and evoke happy memories. “Unique and personal touches will always create a more inviting space than mass-produced, fast fashion. Invest in preloved items to save money and access better quality items than your budget might allow when buying new
Can I bring my toy cars/Hot Wheels over to play too?
One of the most common design mistakes Douglas sees that throws off the whole atmosphere of the space is not taking into account the style of the home. “You don't want your rooms to feel themed or like a set because they aren't sympathetic to the house's style, so there is usually an element of compromise between picking an interior style you like and adapting it to fit your space.”
She continues, “Before you get into the details of planning a room scheme, you need to take a step back and look at the space as a whole and also how it fits into the rest of the house because if you don't properly assess the room's needs, it doesn't matter how pretty it looks or how perfectly the shelves are styled; it won't work for you overall, and you won't be happy.”
Why not just post a 'Monster Family Wanted' sign with that space? Could fit a community of monsters under there!
Will this support the weight? If correctly anchored to concrete wall, yes. CMU wall, possibly with filled cores and correct anchors. Wood frame wall mounted to studs, absolutely not. With blocking, still not happening. That's alot of leverage hanging out there.
well ..... take the end of a 100 cm stick, hold it horizontal and put 1 Kg sugar on it somewhere in the middle....... Now imagine a bed 160cm wide and 200cm long with two adults ......
Load More Replies...Not only does this look so amazing but your feet and shins will be grateful. For you have saved them from the wrath of the dreaded, typical, bed frame.
I gave up and put pool noodles on the bed legs. I smile every time my toe gets a gentle 'boomp.'
Load More Replies...I could see that bending from people sitting in the end of the bed a lot
I can see it bending from adults doing adult stuff in it.
Load More Replies...Seems like a waste of money, that cost a fortune to get the support built into the wall for this.
Wall studs can support about 1000 lbs compressive weight and about 300-350 lbs hanging weight. Anchored like that at the bottom of the studs, with the weight spread across 3 different studs, there shouldn't be an issue. Can never move the bed though, so cool design for a couple years I guess?
My soft can-opener needs to get this done to the sofa!
But then it would be too easy for soft can opener to retrieve batted items, and where's the fun in that
Load More Replies...see, i have a sleepnumber bed that sits on a molded plastic platform. i have NO under the bed space, and i can't tell you how secure i, a 37 year old, feel with my setup compared to this cleaning and monster family nightmare
My poor dog..I don't trust it. He likes to hide under the bed when his mom is being a whore.
I wonder if those beams go the same distance through the other side of the wall to make the bedframe in the next room. I cannot think of what the wall is made of that can support those beams just by being bolted to the wall.
Great way to repurpose these, although for anyone whose too busy or just not crafty remember they can always be donated for others who need them
My neighbours might not like us showering in the backyard but this is pretty cute :)
Additionally, Douglas recommends against rushing into things. “Get samples of paints, materials, and textures and test them in every light, as they will look different at different times of the day as the sun moves and they will look different in natural vs. artificial light.”
She emphasizes again that people shouldn’t overlook the power of color and how it can affect our mood, energy, and happiness. “Consider how you want to use a space and how you want to feel when you're in it and look for colours that promote these feelings. For example, green is a great colour known for its calming effects, whereas red is very energizing and can easily lead to overstimulation of the senses.”
For those who want to make rental properties more welcoming and comfortable, Douglas advises emphasizing the strengths of the home and distracting the eye from the negatives that can’t be changed. Moreover, she suggests, “Set a colour palette for styling, e.g., cushions, sofa covers, throws, stick-on tiles, rugs, art, flowers and plants, lamps, ornaments, books, accessories and freestanding furniture.”
I made a fire pit similar to this once. Unfortunately it was not functional because it would fill with water every time it rained and the water would not drain.
“Add character by using a mixture of old and new by adding vintage and preloved,” she mentions. “Console tables or sideboards are also a great way to add style to a rental, as they are freestanding and come in a huge range of shapes and sizes, so they can be squeezed into narrow or shallow spaces.”
Lastly, Rider concluded by saying, “Think about your budget and plan, plan and plan ahead of time. Have a game plan. You do want an overall vibe and cohesiveness.”
This took a ton of work and math skills to figure out how many joists were needed.
That kid from The Giving Tree found a use for that old stump after all.
None of these things should be stored in the light. And potatoes and onions (alliums really) encourage each other to sprout, so they should be in separate cabinets.
I really like the idea of these cute, intimate entertaining spaces, but there's no way I could sit here, comfortably or not, for even a drink, never mind an entire meal. If I did manage (I'm disabled)to sit on a pillow, I would definitely need some help getting back up.
AI - Verbium (the purple potted plants) need way more sun than that, and potted bushes to not tend to do well - why is one window completely different than the others? - on the middle window (which if this is a porch should be a door) how is that planter hung up? It has no fixtures
Looks cool but I see a future of pounding down nails and slightly ruddy socks and feet.
i think those wooden tiles are from ikea, and stained. i've seen a similar use for them before
Despite what you think, Europeans don’t like their Alcohol sun hot
I'd like to see something real and doable, many of these pictures is AI
I don't understand why nearly everything today is just imitation. I would prefer to have seen things that I might recreate myself and not fantasy AI BS. Do I have to scrutinize every pic I see looking for obvious digital manipulation? There is true beauty all around us, but images of this sort make it seem like what have can never be that kind of pretty. Whose garden blooms exactly like in those pictures? If these sort of things are all you see, could you ever be satisfied with what you can create? Real life will soon never satisfy.
Didn’t finish as I downvote every AI image being passed off as real and I got tired of it. Also some spectacularly bad ideas that might have been real. Just a couple I saw that were actually both read and good. BP, please do not take from this source anymore. It’s full on sh*t.
Stop with the AI please. I'm sorry to sound all whiny but it's my dream to be an interior designer and this kind of stuff is super depressing to me. Please, don't let AI replace the hard work of true, passionate designers :(
These are very inspiring pictures! I saved many of them to implement in my home and garden. It is fine that some of them are AI, it is still inspiring.
So many negative comments (tripping, AI). Would have been nice to just look at pics and read what BPs liked about each. Most people who are going to create beautiful spaces like these will not use these pics as blueprints.
This the strangest series of comments I have ever seen. Everyone is obsessed with AI, so much so that you have been blinded to reality. You must be trolling. Every single one of these projects is doable, done, and a real picture picture of the finished project. There are beautiful and creative. I am vegan so I am not fond of the animal antlers and skins, but I make rules only for myself and not others. Beautiful!!! Thank you Bored Panda.
Whoever was making comments to all the pictures must be an unhappy person, making negative remarks on these beautiful pictures!
They’re too vivid and impractical to be real - not unhappy, just realistic.
Load More Replies...A lot of people are saying everything is AI, but they should look back 10 years to see how incredibly creative people can be. I think many of these that were panned as AI could be real.
It’s not the creativity, it’s the unreal colours and impossible structures that give it away - plant catalogues are doing the same. The colours shown are impossible to achieve naturally.
Load More Replies...It took me to almost to the end to realize it's all AI... Is there a way we Pandas can put a moratorium on this types of submissions?
Some people were calling AI on real pictures, though. I mean, I guess it's a compliment to your yard if people think that but it's dismissive of things that people worked hard on. Although they didn't do it for our likes anyway I'm sure but for their own enjoyment. Even the real pictures are full of criticisms like "I wouldn't sit there" or "I wouldn't eat outside" etc. Not much positivity. Take something for inspiration, or don't, but I don't get why it sounds like sour grapes in these comments.
We Pandas are spending less time appreciating the content and more time looking for AI fails. AI is still too crappy to deserve publication.

The only AI I want to see on Bored Panda are the funny posts with pics of AI mistakes. I certainly don't want to see posts with AI presented as real. Do better, BP!
