On a slightly related note: there's a person in my class that has a service dog, but it doesn't seem like a 'legit' service dog because it doesn't seem to listen to classmate's instruction very well (e.g. to lie down) and it will kick over its water bowl and will sometimes lick random people that pass it, for example. This annoys me, because I'm autistic and while I do not object to service dogs being in communal spaces, I just get cognitive dissonance looking at this dog...

NTA, OP did not get Karen fired, Karen got herself fired for being a giant A-hole. I'd feel worse for her kids having to live with her as a mother than Karen getting fired.

The co-worker deserved what she got. She probably spent more time trying to get OP and her service dog out of the building instead of just doing her job and minding her own business.

I hope the person who wrote YTA is put in the same situation as the poster. Then they can be an incovenience to others and let someone harass them endlessly. As if the poster has any control over the fat that a medical issue is involved. I. Went to Reddit to look at the original and the commenters did some digging. The account that posted this had 3 common type posts like this and it was only 7 days old. This is an AI Bot account and the story is fake.

Trying to cause someone to have a medical incident to prove they have it is assault. It would be like eating nuts around someone with an allergy because you don't believe them. She deliberately triggered a medical response. Instant dismissal. I would have probably have filed a police report. F**k her kids, maybe now they won't be utter c***s like their mother.

Once again, the YTA fuggnuts are letting their fingers work before their brains. The office busybody was obviously provoking OP and Max to the point of possibly releasing sensitive information. I'm surprised she wasn't hit with a lawsuit for pretty much almost enabling identity theft or worse. Max wasn't allowed to bite her but karma certainly did. As for her equally sh*tbag friends and family, I hope they get served with a warning or worse if they continue to harass OP. Karma did OP and Max a service by unleashing the HR hounds of justice on that moronic busybody. SMH!!!

No wonder HR got rid. Even if there had been no past bad behaviour on the woman's part, she had created a hostile environment, bullied a colleague, shared images taken in the workplace online as part of the harassment, and put OP at risk of medical episodes on multiple occasions. On their own, maybe cause for warning, collectively it is significant evidence and (particularly with the triggering medical episodes) non-action could have made the employer liable if something did happen to OP.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. This falls under the ADA. The business would be open to huge liability for not firing her. If the Karen lacks even this basic level of intelligence, her family will suffer no matter what.

I don't understand the point of this post. Don't get me wrong, she's obviously Nta but there was no reason to post this in AITA. No one in their right mind would actually think they are the AH in this situation, so why look for validation. Post it on another sub reddit that like, tells stories about horrible people getting karma or something. It doesn't really feel relevant to this subreddit and feels like it was just engagement bait, posting it on the most popular subreddit for upvotes which is why I'm always so hesitant to believe these internet stories.

Why can't people mind their own business. If was at work and someone had a dog, I'd assume they must have been vetted through HR and HR determined it was fine. That's part of their job, no? If dogs aren't allowed, no one is going to let OP just walk around with their dog every day. If they ARE walking around with their dog every day, then it must be okay for them. And it isn't my job to play detective and try to get them outed as fake. People like Karen are seriously unhappy people with way too much time on their hands.

Open a civil suit, list in the Complaint everything about why the medical condition is so serious, and every instance of Karen trying to exacerbate the medical condition, plus the proof of harassment and proof of Karen's termination for harassment. Email copy of complaint back to everyone who emailed OP abuse, stating if they wish, she can add their names to the lawsuit as Defendants for harassment too. Karen's friends will abandon her once they read how awful she's being/breaching federal law, and to ensure they're not dragged into her mess. Full vindictiveness would involve going door-to-door in Karen's neighborhood asking if any residents have had any problems with their service animals and Karen, invite them to join your lawsuit against her, and provide a copy of the Complaint to the neighbors for their information. Ruin her social circle and her neighborhood community ties (possibly church ties too if a neighbor spreads the Complaint among Karen's religious community).

The more of these unhinged YTA comments I read the more I am happy to be the A sometimes. Seriously, what is wrong with people?
