Are you saying that people shouldn't be allowed to criticize their own country??? In some places, and probably the USSR at that time, criticisms might get you killed. I can't imagine you'd want to live somewhere that backwards. It's never a good sign. When Asimov moved to the US and stayed there, he enriched it greatly (not an insult to the US, but Asimov was a brilliant scientist and a good writer, too). If he gave minor criticisms (and this is minor) then it was probably because he felt there was enough good stuff to build on to be worthy of trying to fix rather than abandoning it. That's what you should want from all your citizens.

homie, some people just came here purely for the relative safety, and education, or to flee from war and have secured safety. Once they're alright, they're gonna leave and they're not going to come back. Some people don't come here and are automatically obligated to die for this country. They aren't committing to America. They're just coming here for the benefits, and tbh I wouldn't blame them. I'd do the same if I were fleeing war and famine, and in need of a better education.
