It seems that these days, one of the most important factors before enjoying any delicious meal or drink is the question of “how Instagramable it is”. Those businesses who understand their customer’s desperate need to capture the beauty of their food are trying their best to deliver something other places would never think of. And if they are lucky enough, their product quickly gets on the Internet and becomes a new trend. We previously had black ice-cream, unicorn frappuccino, and even rainbow bagels. Now there’s a new Instagramable treat on the market.

Even though it looks absolutely magical, some people who happened to try it say it is definitely overhyped and even a bit gimmicky.

Of course it's "a bit gimmicky" - it's a friggin cotton candy ball over a mug. I think the idea is really cute, but I have to agree, a smaller cloud would be less messy and no one needs such huge amounts of cotton candy for a coffee anyway. 10/10 super sweet idea tho. And every trend in the US was for instagram as well - black ice cream, rainbow in everything.. stop whining about it. That's just how it is now.

$9 for a cup of coffee? For that money I can get a decent healthy meal.

This is my try of it, hot coffee with a handful of cotton candy on top of it INSIDE the glas so it doesnt make a mess. It was fun and mesmerising to watch but really doesnt make it taste any different than just a spoon of sugar 61329086_3...5ec387.jpg 61329086_318615112368591_4677948567711645696_n-5ce7f4b5ec387.jpg

What's so magical? All in sticky sugar, then wash face and hands for a long time.

I absolutely love this. It's just such a cool concept, I think it would be a really fun thing to experience. So original, who would ever think of serving your coffee sugar in the form of a rainy cloud, it's just brilliant. I really love things like this, that open up your mind to a whole new way of seeing the world.

Reminds me of a certain restaurant that serves steak on a rock - your still extremely rare steak is served on a large superheated flat rock, and you cut bite size pieces off and let them finish cooking on the rock. It's gimmicky, and fun to try once, but the experience gets old about halfway through the meal. I think I'd feel the same way about this. Just serve me my steak/coffee/whatever without the fuss. I care more about whether something is good.

I don't care it's a gimmick, I'd buy it anyway for the photo. Call me basic I guess
