If it requires long preparation I have to really want it. If I wanted grandma's parodies I had to help. If I smoke a pork butt all day, I have to really want BBQ. But I've never understood combining the stress of hosting a big event with food that takes all day to make. Discourage saving the good food for the days you're too busy to eat it and enjoy.

As someone that has made “mug cake” in the microwave. Cake is NOT long prep or special occasion food. Sure you can spend hours making and decorating But a basic cake… just eat it if you want it

We have to abandon the mindset of good or bad foods. If you basically eat a healthy diet then when you crave a food, go for it. You're less likely to over do it if you know you can anytime.

It's also not exactly part of a healthy diet. It's something that should be enjoyed on occasion...it's really good...why not eat it in special occasions! If you eat a cake every Wednesday, that's going to have negative effects on your health. Sure you can do it if you want to, doesn't really mean you should Though.

We have concept called "Bento Cakes" , basically its smaller of version of big cakes. Like 200 gm version. We can have 3 Bento cakes at once and enjoy 3 flavours in price of one big cake.

No offense but that's just silly. In most homes there are traditional and non traditional meals that are eaten so rarely (once or twice a year) which makes them special treats. The full turkey and fixings is something I've had twice a year for 60+ years (Thanksgiving and Xmas), Corned Beef and Cabbage I only have once a year, so again it feels very special.

Canned fish is awesome! Not just sardines and anchovies but you can get all kinds of fish in cans, even stuff like clams and even squid! And if you prefer food without too many additives or processing, look at the back of the can, it typically says something like "ingredients: fish, salt, some sort of oil (veg or sunflower or something) and with some, the processing is so minimal the fish is just cooked in the can after sealing during the pasturization process.

Try kipper snacks, they kinda have a smokey bacon taste. Fantastic treat/snack

Approximately .5 ml of peppermint extract added to the mix for a pumpkin pie makes it next level delicious. I meant that the main ingredients don't really. Flour, eggs and even breadcrumbs are along the same line. Soba is buckwheat for instance, there were also potato noodles, jelly noodles, rice noodles, ect. That's all I mean, lol.
