Walt Disney Studios is an integral part of most people's childhoods, creating memorable characters that have stuck with us for many generations. Disney's style is heartwarming stories and heroic characters.

However, Japanese graphic designer Shusaku Takaoka decided to challenge the way we see our favorite cartoon characters, by digitally incorporating them into places and scenarios they don't fit into. The artist combined pop-culture references and classic cartoons, creating interesting stories and images, that show our favorite Princesses and Princes in a different light.

He satirizes and re-invents things we all know and love for shock value. He wants the reader to stop and reevaluate their meanings. See them in a completely new perspective and learn something new, connect certain social issues to the images.

Shusaku Takaoka portrays violent tendencies in cinema, by placing sweet and kind princesses in a violent and cruel light, by editing them with guns, swords and illegal substances. It makes us ask the question: what causes more disturbance, the violence or the character committing the violent act?

Other edits show our addiction to coffee, fast food, and technology. The artist raises questions about our values and what's important to the youth in today's society. He shows how we misuse our time and put our effort into inconsequential things.

Shusaku Takaoka pokes fun at the "Snow White" movie, particularly when the prince kisses Snow White while she's sleeping, making a statement that that's not okay to do. That particular scene has raised many questions in modern times, many people think it’s inappropriate and sets a bad example for children.

He often portrays princesses rejecting princes, flipping them off, to show women empowered and in control of certain situations. Old Disney movies portray different values that are often unacceptable and frowned upon in today's society. These digital art pieces could be meant to make a statement on today's society - or they might just be for fun. We will let you decide.

Is that a Venti iced coffee, 4 shots of espresso, 2 vanilla, 2 toffee nut, one caramel, one cinnamon dolce. Shaken with half of the cup full of vanilla bean powder and extra sweet cream?

I'm not sure whether I'll be glad that I finished seeing all or I''l be sad that I have to go through all of them and laughed. Either my childhood was ruined anyway. :-D
