This Woman Was Caught Red-Handed While Dumping Her 4 Dogs, And Got What She Deserved

It’s heartbreaking to find abandoned animals left to fend for themselves. Unfortunately, there are many irresponsible people who throw their pets away, and some don’t even bother to take them to a pet shelter.

A good Samaritan from San Antonio, Texas, tried to intervene in just an animal abuse situation. When she saw a woman throwing her four family dogs out of the car in a vacated lot, she confronted the offender. In the recording she took, we can hear her clearly stating the consequences that may follow if the woman did indeed decide to carry on being abusive to animals.

The kind Samaritan tried desperately to reason with the dog-abandoner, but even after being given directions to animal rescue services the heartless woman proceeded to dump her family pets and drive away in the most infuriating manner. One of her passengers even had the gall to flip the bird to the camera.

After authorities were informed, three of the dogs were found and delivered to a dog shelter. But the 4th dog was missing. Luckily, however, the callous ex-owner of these pets had a change of heart and helped to locate the last dog. She turned herself in after delivering the last dog to Animal care services. According to Texas law, an individual convicted of abandoning an animal may be sentenced to up to a year in county jail, and a fine of up to $4,000.

Let’s hope that this whole sorry episode will teach her, and other people, to take responsibility for their pets.

There was no change of any sort of fckng heart, the $4000 ticking bomb made her change her mind. Else her miserable and selfish inhuman as*hole self was happy to get rid of those poor souls without slightest of guilt trip. I so wish her mom/dad should have abandoned her at some stage of her life.

agreed, people like this should be banned from ever owning a pet. if you can no longer care for them then just please give them up safely.

The poor dogs, they looked so scared as she was kicking them out of the car and their faces look so sad in their mugshots.... Fingers crossed they find good homes or at least good care in the shelter :(

Here is a link to an updated article. She actually brought the 4th dog in to authorities and turned herself in as well. She is currently facing charges. Clearly she showed up with the 4th dog to look less like the dirtbag that she is.......http://klaq.com/san-antonio-woman-turns-herself-in-after-viral-dog-dumping-video/

I'm hoping it's $4000per animal, myself. That would be $16,000. She abandoned the 4th dog, no matter that she *later* went back and 'found' it for them.

the only time it should be acceptable to intentionally set a pet dog "free" is in the case of a dire emergency (say - hurricane & evacuation) where you cannot take it with you and it would have a better chance fending for itself than locked/chained in an abandoned property

I unfortunately understand them all too well. They're selfish. If it inconveniences them, it's gone, and they don't care how. Around here, the SPCA wants a surrender fee, which means we get a lot of animals just tied to their door k**b at night. Then the local vandals get them, with pitiful results.

I want to cry. Due to my nasty family spreading false malicious lies about me, humans are so cruel to me. Yet all my pets have been unwanted/abused. I’m a nice person. They don’t use social media or read the bull s**t news. They love me because I have love for them. Due to my family, I doubt I will ever have children, so I will always have room for ‘unwanted’ pets. Who I treat like my children.

I grew up on a farm, our house was close to my uncles auto repair and on a oft travelled road. People dumped animals on our property almost EVERY DAY! About 10 years after my husband and I married, we bought a farm. People have NOT changed! They regularly drop animals off on our property. It's despicable. I knew I couldnt stop people from being a******s, so, I got approved by the Humane Society to be a Safe haven farm. They came and inspected my farm, gave me a list of changes I needed to make and rules to adhere to. Then, I could at least take care of the animals with the H.S. assistance. They helped with vetting, also when it was time to rehome an animal, I could count on them to do a proper inspection of adopting family.

Sadly I don't think this lady got punished at all because of her so called "change of heart". She probably figured the good Samaritan got her license plates and would report her. She should still have to pay the fine and jail time because if that lady wasn't there confronting them, they would not have had a change of heart. Pathetic.

When I lived in a rural area, people dumped off cats and they often succumbed to a rancher's poison (not legal). I'm glad this shelter doesn't charge to surrender animals. It seems like the person in the driver's seat is yelling out directions to the young woman. Maybe she's a teenage daughter or has an overbearing partner.Taking ones pets away is a common punishment in domestic abuse. We don't really know who is orchestrating this.

Adding to the problem are people that refuse to spay or neuter their pets and people who breed animals and contribute to the problem by buying animals rather than adopting. Be a part of the solution rather than adding to the problem. If you have the chance and don't take it you're not a true animal lover. DON'T breed or buy animals and spay or neuter.

Looking at the car, I doubt these people would have $4k to pay a fine and a fine is a good way to further spiral people like this into debt from which they can't recover. Why not make them pay in a different way, ie a community corrections order to work in an animal rescue shelter, that way they can be educated at the same time.

I also agree that fines are not always the answer - Sometimes people just do not have the money - other times people may have plenty and the fine means nothing. A hefty Community Service Order would work better in both of those situations

My beautiful girl, Barky McWoofwoof was dumped before I adopted her 8 years ago. She came to me toilet trained so it was obvious that she'd had an owner in the past as the dog's home had only had her less than a week. She is the sweetest animal. I have mental health problems and physical disabilities and she keeps me company and lies in bed with me when I'm bedbound. She seems to know exactly when I need cuddles and she could not be more sweet with my son. She's never damaged any property and we've even managed to teach her some tricks, including putting her "babies" back in her toy box! Dogs aren't rubbish, it's not like fly tipping a washing machine. They are loving, intelligent creatures and all they want to do is please you and make you happy. Absolutely breaks my heart.

This happens all the time in Texas. My grandfather lived out near Orange, and would constantly see people dump and run. He started shooting at the cars going for tires. Those dogs that he could catch, he'd rescue and take them either to shelters or in. Problem is that many see animals as property not as companions. You got to catch them to charge them.

Animal cruelty and animal abandonment laws need to be MUCH harsher. She should be prosecuted. Just because she came back to help find the 4th dog doesn't exonerate her from committing the original crime in the first place. She needs to be punished for the crime she committed, especially since there is this video proof.

Maybe she had just been beaten and terrified that morning and was fleeing, the best way she knew how from " domestic" violence. ... Anything could have been going on. It is far to easy to jump on the hate wagon. ... please increasing the hate messages is not going to help. I can not think of anyone who ever changed their opinion because a stranger insulted them.

And you know what, some spineless, jellyfish of a judge will give her 20 lashes with a wet noodle, no fine, no jail time, NOTHING. These people MUST learn how horrible an is that they're doing. It's really NO different than dumping your children out there to fend. People think, oh they're animals, they'll make out. But these are PETS. They have no wilderness or survival skills. They'll have to learn the hard way just like a child would learn. Many times they WON'T survive. WHY do people do this? Don't they know that's what shelters are for? Did it NEVER occur to this jackass to call friends to see if they would like a nice dog? WHY can't we get the seriousness of this through to people?

I completely understand that sometimes a pet owner can no longer take care of the pets that they have, however, there's absolutely no excuse for the owners to dump the pets out in the street. If they didn't know how to not be an owner anymore they could have researched online. It really is such a shame that they were that heartless, they dumped the dogs and then flipped off the woman recording. If they had done the right thing they wouldn't have had such a negative attitude. I hope somewhere down the line they learn from such a mistake.... and also hope they learn to never own a pet again.

That's why it's so important to think very carefully before taking a pet. Are you sure you are willing to take care of them for the rest of their life? If not, don't even think of getting a pet. Get an annual plant.

That woman and her partner should be thrown in jail anyway. As someone mentioned, the only reason she came back was that the camera filmed her license plate. How odious. What trash. How inhuman some "humans" can be. Throw the book at her and keep her away from animals the rest of her life. Better still, throw her in the middle of nowhere with, as someone else stated, no food or water. See how she likes it. It's what she deserves, and more.

San Antonio ought to clean up all that trash on the dead end street now that it's gotten so much attention. These people's mentality must have been "look, this is a good dumping off place..." Is it possible to not understand the concept of a dog shelter? They say people who are unkind to animals are most likely to treat children the same way. At least they look well fed. How many people were part of this dog dump? Are they not party to the crime?

I have too much difficulty seeing stories like this - especially without a very good ending. I say to anyone considering adopting an animal: Do you have 15+ years where you are SURE you can take care of it? Small dog or cat is likely more years. If you can't say yes, get a fish or stuffed animal. This isn't a 3-year thing. This is the lifetime of the animal. And if something happens where you cannot take care of the animal. for God Sakes, take it to a shelter where it has a chance!!! Dumping it somewhere makes you a scumbag coward piece of sh*t.

The couple should have been punished by law, not let off the hook. The accompanying publicity would have been far greater than from any online post because newspapers and TV stations eat this stuff up. Listen up, everyone: the next time you have an opportunity to do good, take a few moments to consider how you can do the MOST good. Animal abandonment is a real and growing problem, and San Antonio's response will do little or nothing about it.,

People make me sick, there are SO MANY cruelty free ways to find homes for pets that you can no longer care for and there is ABSOLUTELY NO SHAME in finding them a home. I personally had a red tailed boa, she was my whole world. I was a drug addict and I could no longer take care of her, so I did the research and found someone that was not only educated in raising large snakes, but would be willing to keep in touch with me and let me know if she was unable to take care of her, that way it wasn't on her shoulders to find housing for a pet who she was unable to take care of. Luckily, that was never an issue and I know that my snake is happy with a caring individual,

I think some of you may have missed that so far, this ugly, overweight brute of a sub-human has not been punished. She should be tied to a post and horsewhipped - but unfortunately neither the whipping or the legal consequences will likely happen. She should at least have a permanent tattoo deeply inscribed on her forehead to identify her - something like "I am sub-human" or a similar warning. Everyone in that car involved should be liable and subject to the stated law.

I really wish we had a database that this c*nt could be put in so she can never adopt or "purchase" another animal anywhere. Texas needs to start upping the penalties and jail time for these scumbags. Make examples out of them so others might think twice. This behavior is rampant here in south Texas.

they may have a better chance of being adopted due to the publicity surrounding their dumping... but you are correct. For most dogs, it's a 1 way ticket to a gas chamber. I volunteer with a rescue group that pulls Great Pyrenees from shelters in TX to find fosters & forever homes for them. The ONE small group I work with in ONE area of Texas that rescues ONE breed, sends over 30 dogs a month to Oregon/Washington to be adopted & fostered. Many more are rehomed in Texas. Since we are a small rescue group our intake is limited and there are many who do not get saved. Sadly they often end up euthanized. Texas shelters euthanize over 70% of the pets that end up in shelters. Well over 200K animals killed per year. Cats have it worst than dogs.

Around here, the SPCA wants a surrender fee, which means we get a lot of animals just tied to their door k**b at night. Then the local vandals get them, with pitiful results.

This is one of many stories we hear about, just not the worst. I would like to know who the heartless idiot in the back seat was, hope not her kid, who has the same attitude. That woman should be made to see a shrink, then pay the top level of the fine plus jail time, also time to work at an animal shelter, but only the cleaning JOB !!!

A real class act in every way (sarcasm alert) I don't care if this dirtbag did find the 4th dog and turn herself in. She should be fined, and whatever else they can throw at this POS. And she should never get near another animal again. If there weren't any witnesses, she would never feel remorse - for getting caught. People who dump cats and dogs are lower then whale s#!t.

There was NO punishment to her actions. The article said according to TX law and offence of this nature COULD BE PUNISHABLE BY A YEAR OF JAIL TIME AND $4000 FINE. It did not say she was. And she did not have a change of heart, She and her accomplice got scared when the good samaritan filmed them doing this.

Texas needs to start upping the penalties and jail time for these scumbags. Make examples out of them so others might think twice. This behavior is rampant here in south Texas.

Y'all are aware these are dogs right?? I mean, yeah, it's mean, but at the end of the day they're animals. Far worse happens to humans everyday, but where's the outrage? Remember this: you can throw a dog off a bridge and you'll only get in trouble if it lands on a person in a boat. Anyway, yeah, hope every one of you complainers is a vegetarian.

Oh, oplease shut up. Besides, humans are actually technically animals as well. Why do you think that you’re more important than a dog? They feel pain and fear too.

On the other hand...... SPCA is likely to eventually kill them. At least feral they have a chance.... I would never do this, just sayin'

They will be euthanized. San Antonio has the worst record of irresponsible pet owners. People need to spay and neuter!

they may have a better chance of being adopted due to the publicity surrounding their dumping... but you are correct.
