At my dad's house we have several sets of drinking glasses, all the same style in various sizes. I don't know why but I think they stopped selling them in the UK and we got some from france when we were on holiday. They come in packs of 4, and my dad remembers having a set of four already, and buying two more sets in france to make a total of 12. One day we found a 13th glass and have no idea where it came from. We couldn't have picked up just a single one anywhere because they only come in sets of 4 and we'd remember if he'd bought an extra set and broken 3.

I broke my humerus while sitting stock still at my computer desk. Bone cancer had eaten through it and it chose that moment to just snap in half. 0/10 do not recommend Edit: just to answer some questions— I did not realize I had cancer at the time! This was how I found out. I had my elbow resting on the arm rest, so I imagine the pressure was what finally did it in. I am okay now, almost 10 years in remission!
