Thank you! It's in Tincup, by Gunnison National Forest. The town is only a few dozen strong, but trail riders flood the area in the spring and summer. My family owns a cabin nearby. It's gorgeous but gets snowed in very heavily in the winter.

Ditto! People assume we autsistics are Sheldon Cooper, or Rainman, or a savant, or any number of overused and hurtful stereotypes. It makes me so exasperated, especially as a female autistic. I've been told TO MY FACE that girls can't be autistic and I'm "fake" or "dramatic". Gaslighting is not cool folks. I've been treated as a broken alien thing, or a crazy genius and neither is accurate or fair. I might be able to name every Pokémon that came out so far but I also know NOTHING about politics. I'm garbage at math, but I can write like crazy. I've likened it to being a Linux in a world of PCs, I'm not damaged, just a different OS.

Asperger. Only a little bit. Until a few years ago, people didn't even know what it was. Then the film industry in my country started to "represent" people who had Asperger's. Almost every film now features someone who has Aspergerautism. Unfortunately the directors did a very bad job and that's why everyone now thinks Aspergerautists are asocial, stupid and freak out if you touch them. That may be true for some, but not for everyone. The sheer number of people who crush my hand or grab my neck without asking is unbelievable. That I feel uncomfortable is quite normal. People have no idea about personal space. That's the only thing that is good about Corona: people have to stay away from me.

Aspergic. I find it very difficult to make eye contact. People have taken offence to this, but I'm not being impolite or rude in the slightest; it just makes me feel uncomfortable. I've learnt over the years to really try and maintain eye contact, regardless of how difficult it is for me, because I'm aware that this is what a 'normal' person expects.

Same. Urg. Add in people who told my parents that I was a "pitiable small thing" or tell my partner that they pity him for "being forced to care for a broken thing"...oh did he have a few words to say on the couple of occasions that has happened.

I have autism and people talk to me like an adult if they dont know but if they find out they down talk to me like im a small child or usually talk about me to my friends or family as if im not there 🙁 i can talk i just get embarrased when people treat me differently and im very shy, also people think im rude when i dont look at there eyes and they ask why i wont look at them, im not rude i just find eye contact really unsettling and awkward

I have ADHD, autism, anxiety, am part of the LGBTQ+ community, am a religious minority, am a "gifted kid" and cry easily. People stereotype me as a "special little snowflake". It makes me uncomfortable to have people talk down to me as if I'm in kindergarten. It's so stupid that people think that "Oh-one wrong step and they'll start crying!"
