Study whatever you want to study. You’ll find a way to make it work if it’s what you want to do. I know this idea is gettiing more and more unpopular with many countries having universities only accessible for the rich. But it’s how it should be. Don’t choose a field of study with money as your only drive. ETA clearly this doesn’t apply in the US but in many other countries an education (at the moment) does not set you up for a life of debt. Many medical professions, especially within units like NICU, or certain wards not just for babies/children... you're in a profession where you may very well see people dying. At least in my profession (well, before my cancer diagnosis, but hopefully I'll be back to it someday) as a mortician, they're already dead (though may they all rip). Seeing a dead body is one thing, but to see someone actually die in front of you is another entirely. :( (heck, I was told last time I was in hospital the person in the bed before me had passed away and that's why it was made available so suddenly, ofc, everything was sterilised etc, but still, weird to think about, but a fact of hospitals)
