This is an interesting story actually. Julius Caesar was extremely popular among the plebes, and uneducated masses. The Roman Senate had already ceded power to him as dictat for a term of some years. They were getting ready to make him dictator for life. Brutus, along with a minority group of senators conspired to k**l him to prevent the end of the Roman democracy. In a way Brutus was a hero who sacrificed his friendship for the country, and ultimately his own life. Also ultimately he failed to prevent the fall of a democratic Rome

IDK, I enjoyed my 20s. I didn't really live in a 1 bedroom, as I always had roommates, and I jumped from country to country working on different projects for a few months to a few years at a time. It was a struggle, and I never had much money, but I loved my life.

I don't believe you. That's $833/month, minus the 15% you're saving, and let's assume another 5% for taxes you're claiming to live off of about $670/month. You might be able to "support yourself" on that wage if you have your housing and medical care paid for. A single room for rent where I live is about $1000/month, I don't even live close to an expensive market. A studio apartment will run you $1200-$1400/month. Cheapest apartments I could find in Oklahoma City (supposedly the cheapest market in the US) was $650/month. There are subsidized housing programs where the government will pay for your housing on your behalf, but that's hardly somebody getting by through being disciplined. That's living off the taxable wages of others. I'm not saying people should be homeless, but I wouldn't go around bragging about your cunning and discipline either.

I got my first job at 9, but not making anywhere near $15/hour. It was actually below minimum wage, probably closer to $3/hour. But for a 9 year-old that wasn't too bad. My next job I made really good money (I was 11), probably like $9/hour, but the work was really brutal on my body. Long hours and heavy lifting. I think you should be able to afford a dignified life if you work. If that's $15/hour than that's what the minimum wage should be. The problem though, is I think this will depend on where you live. $15/hour may be fine in Ohio, but I don't you can afford rent on $15/hour where I live now. Maybe $20/hour would be a fairer wage.

You can order a 50 pack of razor blades for a safety razor on amazon for a per-razor cost of about 20 cents. One blade lasts me a week (but I shave every day). So it's like $12/year on razor blades. My safety razor itself cost me another $15 or so, but that thing has lasted me at least 7 years, and only replaced my last one because I forgot it in a hotel.

Side note. I started mixing cocoa powder into plain humus and use that as a tasty spread. My kids love it. I do use a slightly sweetened cocoa, but I've had it with dark chocolate too and it's even better (but the kids don't like it that way).

I'm an engineer, but in that line of work I've worked for both hospitals and law firms. Of the two professions (at least in the United States), doctors were by far the slimiest. All of the lawyers I worked for have at least had the best interest of their clients in mind. I cannot say this of the medical professionals I worked with (especially in radiology).

The whole concept of the "lawn" is itself problematic. It makes sense in the UK where it rains 160 days/year. But the traditional aristocratic lawn was brought to the United States, which sees far less rain. These then need to be constantly watered or they turn brown, and they then purge the suburbs of beneficial native plants to make way for grass. Better to let your yard be full of wildflowers. They are already acclimated to the lower rain levels, they feed native pollinators, and they are far prettier than just grass (which you then have to water and mow).

There is a scientific reason for this. When you drink anything from plastic you are not only tasting the drink but, because plastic has an unstable structure you are also tasting the 'aromatic' molecules (the micro plastics) released as the plastic breaks down. Glass is a far more stable material which does not break down and so doesn't taint the flavour of the drink.
