Yes, very true, but it is a fine line for some of us, because guilt can also consume a person. Guilt is supposed to be a short term feeling (there are certain exceptions) to motivate you to make amends and be a better person. But for certain people it can be easy to never let that Guilt go, even for small stuff, and that can have a very negative impact. I struggle with this. II swear I was catholic in a past life (joke) because I will feel guilty for existing sometimes, and although i have made mistakes and done some shitty things, nothing warrants the guilt I feel sometimes. My parents never shamed me and were sometimes baffled about how long i would hold on to guilt about some minor mistake, so i guess it is just the way my brain is wired.After counseling and a lot of work, I now can usually work through it and not let it effect me, but if still sucks feeling that way more often than not, and many times for no real reason.
