The Secretary of the Navy at that time, Frank Knox, was against any black person serving in combat toles so working in the mess was one of the few positions available to Doris Miller. Frank Knox also recommended against Doris Miller getting commendation for his actions at Pearl Harbor. Doris Miller grew up in Texas during Jim Crow segregation and had very few opportunities, including being rejected from serving in the Civilian Conservation Corp. At he time just after Pearl Harbor it was a national controversy about honoring him as many white Pearl Harbor heros were being honored, it went all the way to President Roosevelts desk.

sadly he was killed later on in the war when his ship, the light carrier u.s.s. liscombe bay was torpedoed by a japanese sub on thanksgiving day, 24 nov1943. the torpedo caused the ship's supply of torpedoes to explode, destroying the ship and taking with her 2/3 of the crew, miller among them.

I work in legal conflicts - this is a clear conflict that would require signed waivers from all parties. This representation can not go forward at all until the conflict is cleared, meaning zero meetings with the client to discuss the matter until ex has signed off. Getting anywhere near a judge with this kind of conflict hanging out there is impossible or if ignored its grounds for disbarment.

I dont buy it. First of all this would be a conflict of interest that would have to be revealed and waived by all parties to continue the representation. Secondly how did it get all the way to a court date without him knowing the opposing attorney's name, there is a lot of paperwork and meetings before a court date. In fact most divorces only see a judge to certify the deal that was brokered between the parties, the actual negotiations and arguements are done between the attorneys or with the help of an arbitrator.

I somewhat agree with this but in the US at least fast food and processed food is heavily marketed and everywhere, you can't escape it. It's even in schools are marketed to children. Billion dollar companies are doing everything they can to get these products into peoples mouths but then turn around and blame personal responsibility for obesity. It's disingenuous at best to say the psychological manipulation of advanced marketing and ultra palatable lab created food that is literally on every street corner for some people does not have share of the blame in the obesity crisis

Actually yes you can. I'm not talking about identifying as another gender or anything but you can actually born with two sets of genitalia or an incomplete one. You can have breasts but also a pns. (just as a bonus point you can even born with a single or 3 legs or arms) Now we've established nature is not perfect or God does what he does without your approval or notice, maybe we can continue and extrapolate from these facts maybe yes in fact you can also born into wrong gender even if you don't have the wrong genitals. Just le people be. Yes, born sex is a historical fact and cannot be changed (we still don't have time machines) but your current sex can be changed. General rule is dogs can be left alone for about 5 hours - obviously different dogs have different needs but 5 hours is the rough benchmark on how long it's reasonable for a dog to hold their bladder. Responsible dog owners know this and have the solution that works for them. I live close enough to work that using my lunch break to run home was a solution. Anyway, I am not saying that dogs should be auto included in any and every get together (I never take my fella unless he is specifically invited).
