I'm being harsh on you because I have raised three rounds of cats, and while I understand that you were young, can you please explain to my what was in your head? Did you not see this as wrong? Did you do it frequently? Did it make you laugh? I'm just having a very hard time with this. I had a cat when I was your age and the worst I would do is put him in a t-shirt, let him fall asleep in a box and then push him around the house like he was in a shopping cart.

Thank you. I went straight to the cat part. Miss the age. Too young to understand. I took my cats with me and my then husband to stay with his family. The 8 YO child between two crack addicts (his brother and a s*x worker) would throw golf balls at my cats. I tried to explain that he would be hurting the cats when I really wanted to bean him in the head with a golf ball so he would know was it was like. I just kept the cats locked in a room with me. Maybe OPs parent's weren't sadistic, or maybe they were just inattentive and not socializing their kid. Don't know. But OP seems to post it as if it was no big deal. Why would someone post something like that if there wasn't some bragging or pride involved? Especially on reddit, the new 4chan cesspool?

I gave my sister a pair of crystal salt cellars with pewter spoons. She got married on NYE while I was in town spending Christmas with an older couple who were friends of mine. So we were opening gifts and Kendra was pissed because it was a regift. We go into the basement, get a blue Tiffany box, find some white tissue paper. She even has white satin ribbon that she ironed and tied the box in a bow. We are cackling. Sister didn't ask me to stand up, but made me responsible for getting our nursing home grandmother into clean clothes and into the van, all that stuff. Good friend Bill and I cut out early and go to a NYE party. Sister calls me and asks me about stolen gift envelopes. Really? It is the last wedding I went to. Politely decline if it ever comes up again. EDIT: Oh, and, I'm in grad school at the time. Had to buy a black dress. Told her I bought a three strand pearl necklace. She says "Are they Mikimoto pearls?" Yeah, I can barely scrape up the $500 plane ticket, yet I'm going to spend $5k on a Mikimoto three strand pearl choker?

Seems like it would be a maze of state law, board policy and then local school policy. I'm kind of appalled at what I'm reading here. No wonder we can't hire and retain teachers. I'm thinking that medical liability and policy for schools really needs to be examined.

Every classroom should have a series of roll down maps: city, county, state, US, world by continent. I'm in my 50s and if I don't know where a country is, I look it up online, but having a set of maps should be in every classroom. Electronic or printed.

That must of been terrible. I was lucky to have great teachers from k through 5, with the exception of 1st Schentzel. She was a dam n**i. My state is really focusing $ into early childhood education and we have such a shortage of teachers. It is in the state budget so it should not be effected by trumps cuts to our initiatives. But there is such a shortage of people who want to teach.

Agree, ending up vomiting is not right. One of mine, the orangie, liked serious play. Including nerf darts. I would intentionally miss while we ran around the house chasing each other. Orangies need a lot of play. Trust me, I was good with a .22 semi and a .22 bolt action (at a firing range so it was definitely an intentional miss.) He would quit before I did. Then it was treats and snuggles. We also played mousey baseball. I'd toss little rattley mice at him and he would bat them back, and I'd toss them right back at him. Cats are very playful, but spinning them until they vomit is not right.

D**n. That is SO behavior. I had a gym teacher in the 1980s put me over his knee and pinch my posterior with two fingers. Like really pinch. He did it to a friend too. And we got bold and went to the principal. Guess what? Nothing happened, but they did transfer me to another gym class.

That is much more tame than driving on acid. While a road is under construction and has what was then called "mots dots" which were reflective dots. It was a highway and I was coming back from a Grateful Dead show in Minneapolis. It was like being in a real life video game. This was in the 1980s. Not something I will ever do again. That was a very wild time. Couldn't let go of the 60s and 70s culture and hated the 80s. So we rebelled.

Stuck a bobby pin in an outlet when I was two years old. Shorted out the entire house. Burnt my fingers with the v shape of the bobby pin. Oh yeah, I bashed (your censorship sucks, all I did was type c-r-a-c-*k*ed) the back of my head open where the base of the skull meets the spinal cord a couple years later. Rough housing. Surprised I didn't end up paralyzed. Broke my right leg twice. Shut down traffic on I35 in Austin TX after being hook, spun and pushed by an 18 wheeler. Almost got creamed a few times being a pedestrian. About to skip across the street and I stopped and pulled back at the last minute. Just missed a giant pickup truck. Another time, different city, I was crossing the street and got stuck in the middle between city traffic. Didn't get hit in the head with a car mirror, but I did scare the driver of one car. Actually heard her scream. Surprised I'm still alive. I do have a car now. No accidents.

I hope it didn't go through your nose. There was this mix, kinda like a cracker/chex/pretzel/peanut spice thing. I gorged on a bag of it over about 12 hours. Yeah, it is what you think. I can't even smell it without the memory coming back and that was 35 years ago. Recently, I had a gig where I shared an office with someone who ate corn nuts. Flashback. Same smell.

Three year olds literally do not have the brain structures yet to put themselves in another's shoes and understand that they are having their own experience of something that is different to the child's. I know this because I studied child development as part of my degree. To a child of that age if they were having fun then the cat must be having fun too. So luckily it is unlikely that the OP had sadistic parents.
