When my grandmother was dying, she was in hospice care. On my birthday, she woke up just enought to wish me a happy birthday. She then slipped back into her sleep and didn't wake back up. Listening to what the nurse told me was "the death rattle" still haunts me to this day.

A few days after her death, I was crying to my then (now ex!) boyfriend, who promptly told me I was over reacting to her death. I lost my grandmother, and I lost a big part of that relationship too. I still struggle with crying about loss to my now husband.

Edited: to make it clear I didn't marry that loser.

Rescued a pregnant chinny and took her with us when we went away for a week. Had a blizzard and had to put everything on a sled to hike almost a mile to get to the car. So, these babies became Tim-Bits (Tim Horton donut holes) for the walk-out. I put them inside my jacket. When I was 26, I was a retail manager at Sea World. As I was leaving my shop a gentleman and his wife stopped me. The gentleman looked into my eyes, asking if I recognized him. I didn't. He and his wife smiled as he introduced me. When he told me his name, I was shocked. I had not seen him since 4th grade! He had gotten in touch with my mother to ask about me. He was a terrible bully but wanted to apologize to me. I forgave him, and we hugged. Forty-two years later and it still amazes me.
